  Megan took my hair, which was previously horribly taken care of by another "hair stylist", who "knew what she was doing" and spent nearly 6 hours trying to correct it. My fried hair has never felt so smooth and soft the day after. So I have nothing but props to her for putting every ounce of care into the detail, colouring, and restoration of it to a better state. So if you want a hard worker that'll stick with you til the job is done and done perfectly. Talk to her and let her know, Einstein appreciates every hour laughing with her and her coworkers who are all dedicated amazing people.

  I was disappointed with my haircut this time — it felt very different from my previous visit. The stylist cut my hair much shorter than I expected and only trimmed the bangs. Basically, she shortened the whole length and then blow-dried the bangs to make them look better, which covered the fact that no real layering was done. I had clearly requested layers and even asked again during the drying process because I felt something wasn’t right, but was told they were there. My unhappiness reached its peak when I saw myself in the mirror at a restaurant right after leaving the salon — that’s when I realized how flat and uneven the haircut looked. I’ll be going to another salon tomorrow to see if my hair can be fixed. I used to recommend this place to my mom and friends, but I’m disappointed to see the quality has gone down even though prices have gone up. The service really didn’t feel worth $69 (with tip my overall is over $70, I usually give 25%, but this time only 10%).

  Tarpon Bay Hair Cuttery is the only place that I have gone to since moving to Naples. Over 7 years. Kistin, my hairdresser is truly remarkable. She knows her craft and makes sure that her customers leave the salon happy. The entire staff at this location (Tarpon Bay - Naples) are incredibly professional, friendly and knowledgeable. The BEST.

  The cut was very good but the experience wasn’t a good one overall hence the 4 star review. First the good; I have long hair and my cut is pretty common, long layers, which is one of the styles they have to choose from. My stylist’s bio specifically mentioned she specializes in long hair which was why I chose her as a first time customer. Also good was the price; with a first time customer promo and a 20% tip, the wash, conditioner, and cut came to $24. A really good deal. Now why the experience was not ideal. When my stylist’s came to the front she said my name, then directed me to her station verbally. No introduction of herself by name, no “nice to meet you”, or “welcome”. It was a “Next!” approach, complete with chewing gum (yes, she was actually chewing gum). We went through what I wanted and I asked what she recommended based on the condition of my hair, in this way she was very helpful so points there. Next to wash and condition. The chair/sink was low and pretty uncomfortable for my 5ft 8in frame. No adjustments available for the chair or sink. So I had to support myself using my back and the little bit of my butt that fit in the seat. If you have back problems, and are tall, this won’t work for you. The shampoo was a little rough for me, I could feel her nails on my scalp. The conditioning was gentler (thankfully). She left me to sit/lay in this uncomfortable position for a few minutes and went into the back. When she came back to the washing station, she was talking to someone on her phone quietly while she rinsed the conditioner which was a little awkward. By the time I was finished with the wash and condition, I was wet down my back probably because of the awkward way I was positioned. There weren’t capes available in the washing stations and the stylist didn’t have any from the back except a size small (which I am not). I was’t given a cape until I was back at her station. The conversation between the stylists as this was happening included there were some still in the wash and they should order more. This happened without acknowledgement that I was even present or an apology that one wasn’t available for me after my wash or one in the appropriate size. Maybe when she left for the conditioner to sit, it would have been a better time to check if there was capes available rather than going to the back employee area? Lastly, after the cut, she never offered to show me the back with a mirror. The cut ended a bit abruptly mid conversation. So, overall: good cut, not a good experience. But when you account the price into the equation, I got what I paid for which is fair enough and worth 4 stars.
