I don’t even know where to start because I am STILL dealing with the damage from this appointment a year and a half later. My hair was absolutely fried, overprocessed, and destroyed. When it dried, it was literally crispy to the point where it'd break when i brushed it, wet or dry. Not just “a little dry.” It felt like straw. It snapped. It would break off, It looked uneven, brittle, and completely lifeless. The worst part? It didn’t even take to the color properly so my hair was chemically burned for nothing.
What makes this even more infuriating is hearing the stylist casually telling her coworkers that she used 40 volume developer on my hair like it was no big deal. 40 volume. That is extremely harsh, and my hair clearly could not handle it. There was zero care, zero consideration for the health of my hair, and absolutely no accountability. It felt careless and reckless.
And then as if it couldn’t get worse once her other client came in, she passed me off to someone else to finish my cut and style. After frying my hair, she couldn’t even be bothered to finish the service herself. I actually didn't mind the other lady was way nicer but the first lady who contributed to my hair gave nothing but mean girl.
The stylist she handed me to took one look at my hair and said I needed a heavy-duty hair mask because of how damaged it was. That should tell you everything. When another professional immediately acknowledges how severe the damage is, that’s not “normal processing.” That’s someone going too far.
When I left, my hair was snapping off. It was crunchy. It wouldn’t lay right. It had no elasticity. And somehow I was expected to pay for that. I genuinely cannot believe I paid for that appointment. I should have refused. I’m honestly shocked I handed over money after walking out with hair that felt chemically destroyed.
Fast forward a year and a half later I am STILL dealing with the consequences. I’ve had to slowly trim off damage over time. I’ve spent money on treatments, masks, bond repair, and professional products trying to restore what was ruined in one appointment. And even after going to a completely different stylist to fix it, my hair still will not hold color properly. Not even box dye BUT even by a professional, A YEAR later and the color still fades unevenly because the integrity of my hair was so compromised. That level of damage doesn’t just disappear.
My ends continue to break while I’m trying to grow it out. The texture has never fully felt the same. The breakage has set back my growth significantly. What should have been a routine service turned into over a year of damage control, frustration, and emotional stress watching my hair deteriorate.
This wasn’t a minor mistake. This was overprocessing, poor judgment, and unprofessional behavior. No one should walk out of a salon with hair that is literally crispy and breaking off. I didn't ask for someone to play in my hair, i asked to be blonde since the stylist "specialized" in blonding. If it wasn't manageable, i told her i was open to something else, i had box dye on my hair so i knew it was a long process but this was the second time i went here and this time i walked out with my hair breaking and still a dark copper orange. Its pretty bad when i've been to other hair stylists after this and not only do i have to spend time going over a consultation to get into how damaged my hair is but their best suggestion was to chop it all off!
If you care about the health of your hair, I would strongly reconsider going here. I would never risk letting this happen to me again, and I would never recommend this place to anyone.
