I have NEVER written a bad review in my life but I guess I have to. I went in for a wash and blow dry. Firstly, my appointment time was moved randomly but luckily, I did not leave my house at the time. Second, when I came in, “Diana” who was my “stylist” took someone ele before me. Not sure if they had an appointment or not but okay, whatever. Third, once she was finished with her haircut appointment, she immediately tries to tell me that my hair is permed, and that she doesn’t know how to work with that type of hair. Mind you, I have never had my hair permed before. I am mixed race (black and white) but my hair straightens easily, dyes easily, I can pretty much do whatever I want to my hair and I’ve been getting my hair done for years AND I do it myself at home. With that being said, as someone who rarely gets offended, I was pretty offended that she immediately jumped to the conclusion that my hair was permed just because there is some texture and if anything, she seemed very pissed off that she had to do my hair. She did not bother listening to me when I had said to her multiple times that I am able to do a blowout very easily with my hair, she kept telling me over and over again that she needed to also straighten my hair which would require me to spend more money. At this point, I was ready to walk out, but I really needed my hair done so I was hoping that maybe she would redeem herself.
The wash in general was absolutely terrible, it was done very quickly and there was no type of scrubbing or anything done to my head. If anything, my head felt just as icky as it did before I even got to the washing station with 2 week old hair. After the “washing”, I was brought over to her station where she proceeded to put 4-5 different products into my hair. Her reasoning was that so when I’m out in the Florida heat, my hair won’t be frizzy, but if anything it turned my hair into a massive grease ball. She then proceeded to use a blow dryer on my hair to do the blow out, which straightened my hair perfectly fine mind you but she still went back and used a straightener. After everything was over, I am left with extremely greasy hair that’s itchy and if anything I feel like there’s even dandruff buildup from all of this product she had used. then she proceeded to tell me to basically go to the salons that I’m used to because they (hair cuttery) don’t know my hair and they just “have to guess”. That is absolutely insane to say when I was telling her multiple times what to do with my hair, but she chose to not listen…
Tbh, I should have not paid at all but I wanted to be a good person. However, I will be asking for a refund tomorrow as soon as they open. Pictures are how my hair looked like when I left and I also added a photo of when my hair was calico which funny enough, was done at a different hair cuttery location by an amazing stylist. as you can see, my hair is not difficult to work with, AT ALL. $62+ later, I am NOT happy.
