  I had a very frustrating experience at the JC Penney Salon located at The Avenues Mall in Jacksonville, Florida, on Saturday, April 4th, which I feel compelled to share. I went in for a hairstyle that I was really excited about, but unfortunately, the outcome was far from what I had envisioned. The style wasn’t just below my expectations—it also caused discomfort, as it was putting too much tension on my edges. I tried to address this issue immediately by informing the manager at the register that I intended to take my hair down right away because I was not happy with how it turned out. But the frustration didn’t end there. After I left the salon, I called the salon within 30 minutes to speak with the manager about my dissatisfaction. During that call, I explained that not only was the hairstyle not up to standard, but it was also causing physical discomfort due to tension. However, I was told that I should have spoken up while I was still at the salon. This was incredibly disappointing because, as I mentioned earlier to the manager in person, I had already stated that I would be taking my hair down. To make matters worse, I was asked to come back immediately to have the hairstyle taken down, even though I had just made a 45-minute commute home. I have an autoimmune disease that makes it difficult to run around and handle multiple errands, so after a long drive back home, I simply wasn’t able to go back. My husband, looking out for my well-being, spoke up for me and told me to rest at home. He offered to absorb the cost, but I still feel this situation is incredibly unfair. I truly believe that I should be fully refunded for the service, or at the very least, the hairstyle should be redone to my satisfaction. The offer of a $50 refund from a $200 service is completely unreasonable, especially when the reason for this partial refund was because the stylist failed to discuss the price of the service with me beforehand. It’s disappointing that after all of this, I feel as though I’ve been left with an unresolved issue, poor customer service, and no satisfactory resolution. It’s unfortunate because I had hoped for a positive experience, but now I feel like I’ve been treated unfairly. If you're considering this salon, I would advise proceeding with caution, as their customer service response to concerns seems lacking.

  Nikita is the best stylist there. She is always professional and my hair turns out really nice
