I had an amazing experience with Rich at Fat Kat Tattoos this past Sunday. He spent 7 hours on my piece and was incredibly thoughtful the entire time. When I started to hit my limit, he walked me through it and made sure I was comfortable, which I really appreciated. He’s not heavy-handed at all, and his attention to detail is top-tier—especially with the fine line work. Everything came out clean, precise, and exactly how I envisioned it. You can tell he truly cares about his clients and his craft. Highly recommend Rich if you’re looking for quality work and a great overall tattoo experience!

I don’t usually leave reviews like this, but what my wife and I experienced here needs to be said. From the moment we walked in, the energy was off. The woman with full body tattoos and the tall guy at the front i think mexican or indian with black hair made us feel completely unwelcome. It wasn’t just poor customer service, it felt personal and targeted. The way we were spoken to, the looks we got, and the overall treatment were blatantly disrespectful. What made it worse is that it didn’t feel subtle at all. It felt like we were being judged and treated differently because of our race. No one should ever feel uncomfortable or unwelcome in a business they’re considering supporting, especially in a space that’s supposed to be creative and inclusive. We left without getting anything done because the environment was so negative. I would not recommend this place to anyone who expects basic respect and professionalism. Take your time and spend your money somewhere that actually values all customers. not just mexican.

I came in to get a tattoo with Rich. Honestly, the best experience I’ve ever had in a shop. Everyone is extremely friendly and helpful. Rich did an outstanding job and is fast and efficient. Rich is super nice guy, has amazing interpersonal skills, very communicative, understanding, and just an overall pleasure to work with. When i first contacted the shop, rich was the only artist who was available, he immediately sent me a text and got to work cultivating the ideas that were in my head. Catering to my interest and working around my dislikes. Ultimately curating the perfect piece. Rich worked amazingly under pressure and really proved he was a man of action when it was time to get started. During the tattoo process he ensured my comfortability, allowing adjustments and breaks as things got a bit antsy. He provided an option to use an antiseptic numbing spray, known as bactine, and would wrap the tattoo for a brief break to alleviate some pain before continuing. After all, this was a 7 hour, straight, session. One thing about Rich that I noticed and truly admired is how he would talk so highly of his coworkers, their work, and how happy he is to be apart of this team, or truly what seems more like a family. Overall, such an amazing experience. 10/10. I will be back for more. I highly recommend anyone interested in getting body jewelry or tattoo work done to check out this place. And don't forget to walk down the strip and pick up a cup of delicious cuban coffee.

Took my daughter for her first tattoo. The experience was fantastic; really just couldn't be more pleased. From the start, the front end personnel (I'm sorry I forgot her name) was very welcoming and straightforward about the wait--only two people in front of us, no bullcrap. Then, Raphael, with 45 minutes to spare conjured up a design better than the one my daughter envisioned; offered me a chair to look on. And, my daughter being nervous, Misty was there with her hand on her shoulder; a companion through this new experience. Everybody went above & beyond to provide and enrich this scenario for my daughter, and the result is a tattoo that is better than we anticipated.

I went to Fat Kat Piercings and Tattoos for a second nostril piercing to match my existing one (on the right side). The piercer, Misty Dawn, took the time to line it up, stated she used a ruler, and explicitly assured me it was symmetrical. That was not the case. Immediately after the piercing, it was clearly crooked. This was not a subtle difference. When I pointed it out, she acknowledged that it was “a bit off” and not correctly aligned. Her only solution was for me to let it close and return in a month to have it redone. In other words, I’m expected to go through the healing process, the pain, and likely pay again to correct an error she recognized herself. That level of inaccuracy is concerning on its own, but the lack of professionalism during the procedure made it worse. I specifically asked for a moment to prepare myself, and instead of respecting that, she counted “one” and pierced immediately without giving me time. That disregard for basic client comfort significantly increased my anxiety and was completely avoidable. To confirm what I was seeing, I went to another licensed piercer the following day. Without hesitation, they pointed out that the placement was visibly crooked and would be noticeable to others. It is, and it defeats the entire purpose of getting a symmetrical piercing. I have attached a photo for reference. My original piercing is on the right, and the misalignment is obvious. This was something I had saved up for and was genuinely excited about. Instead, I am now left with a poorly placed piercing that I have to remove, allow to heal, and pay to have redone elsewhere. That is not an acceptable outcome for a professional service that relies heavily on precision. When a piercer acknowledges immediately after the procedure that the placement is incorrect, that should never be the end of the conversation. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this shop to anyone seeking precise or symmetrical work.
