Went in to get what I thought was a simple trim on my long, straight hair -- 1 inch all around (same length back and front), with long layers and my curtain bangs re-cut. Stylist was very pleasant but seemed to struggle with creating an even look -- layers appear "shelf-like", and my bangs are an absolute mess. Nothing at all curtain-like about them -- they're different lengths with stringy pieces of totally uneven hair on either side (which he insisted on thinning with texturing scissors). Hair is also shorter in the front. It was as if he were cutting each side freehand without any real comparison -- my hair wasn't even parted before starting (not a good recipe for symmetry) -- and I had to point out that the lengths were different...which resulted in repeated attempts that have left my bangs shorter and thinner than they should be (think Afghan hound, for a visual). Ultimately, I told the stylist I'd fix myself...to which he said "ok". However, there's really no remedy until it grows, which leaves me with a low budget-looking haircut for at least six weeks. (And yes, I know this isn't a top salon, but a. there was nothing difficult about my style request, and b. one does expect to get what's advertised...and a Great Clip it was not.) What's most frustrating is that there were two female stylists who seemed to have more experience (one of whom is postively mentioned in these reviews), and though one of them was available at the same time as mine, I was paired with the stylist who obviously doesn't have a lot of experience cutting long hair/bangs. (I was the only woman in the salon, so the other customers' cuts just involved just clippers.) All this to say, Great Clips needs to ensure their staff are properly trained before setting them loose on the public. I'm leaving two stars because the stylist was nice and no doubt tried his best, but I believe the company is ultimately responsible for their hires. Unfortunately, I wouldn't return and would advise other potential female customers to go elsewhere.
