This is one of my worst haircut experiences, ever, and I am so disappointed and unbelievably upset. I have my own notes that I keep handy that I had previous stylists write, read, and approve of. Today when I went in to show my stylist, she seemed to barely glance over the note. She did acknowledge that prior stylists sectioned out my hair and trimmed it. However, she did not attempt to section OR trim my hair. She explicitly told me that she didn't want to trim with scissors because that would take too long. And I was open to her expertise (assuming the rest of my requests would be followed), but that was clearly a mistake. My primary concern is that I very clearly (and repeatedly) told her that I wanted to keep my length in the front (no shorter than my eyebrows) and when I finally got to see my hair, she had completely cut the front of my hair up to my hairline. And when I said (multiple times) that the front was MUCH shorter than I wanted, she said absolutely nothing at all and simply wanted to move on and finish up. She asked me why I don't get my hair cut more often and I told her that I struggle to get it cut how I like, so she knew I was hesitant and cautious and she showed no concern or care for my experiences or desires. And to start the consultation, before ever even seeing my hair (I had a hat on) she accused me of having matted hair--simply because the notes mentioned that other stylists used a detangler in my hair (because my hair is long and very curly). Which I found really off-putting. And imagine my surprise when she later put in a leave in conditioner/detangler... She even made me brush out my own hair out to start, which (after the matted comment) felt like a test? I was easily able to do so, but it was a really confusing start to the process. And by the end, she didn't even show me how my hair looked on the sides or in the back. My whole experience here was not good at all. Apart from being quick, I felt ignored, judged, and left with a haircut that I immediately wanted to hide under my hat. I am gravely disappointed.
