I will never play at this casino again in life. How do I play $1 denominations $25 dollar spins. I get the bonus twice and only get $70 dollars. That is robbery. I literally lost 3k with no return at all. I will never spend my money here again. It sure if funny after that resort got built u can’t win. I will only play at the older casinos who don’t owe millions for upgrades. This casino lost a high limit player last night.
Don’t stay here! Especially if you have kids! Bunch of ripoffs! I am already used to and desensitized by ridiculous resort fees, sure we paying for hotel but need to pay extra to use amenities??! This time they tried to charge $26.99 or so plus tax (don’t wanna forget that) for early check-in, since we dared to come in an hour early(around 3pm). They just started this policy a few weeks earlier, before you could check-in at 2pm with no extra fees. I guess they figured a new way to take peoples hard earned money, slots were not doing enough. Somebody probably even got a promotion out of it.
By the way pool closes for kids at 6pm, so if you come check-in around 4pm, stand the line, go change, etc. you may have 1 whole hour to enjoy it!!
Stay away from this place and save your money!
Go to Ameristar, at least they let you check-in at 2pm!

I'm giving Monarch a 5 because this is my favorite Casino even though I had a bad experience tonight I visited Monarch Casino Resort Spa on a Sunday 3/22/26 and had a very upsetting experience. I played multiple machines and eventually moved to another one while chatting with someone nearby. I inserted my ticket and started playing.
After playing for a while, a man approached me and said he had left money behind in the machine. I immediately told him I was sorry and that I hadn’t noticed any money in the machine. He said he would report it, and I said okay and continued playing.
Soon after, staff came over and asked me to remove my ticket because they needed to shut down the machine. I moved to next machine. Later, another staff member approached me and told me I had to return $190. I explained again that I hadn’t seen any money, but I cooperated and gave them my ticket. They cashed it out, took the amount they said was owed, and returned the rest to me. They also asked for my player’s card I handed my players card since I didn't do nothing wrong and had nothing to hide this was so embarrassing.
When I got home, I received a call from someone identifying themselves as an investigator from Monarch, who said they were going to close my case. This was extremely embarrassing and upsetting, especially because I did nothing intentionally wrong. I visit this casino often even stay in the hotel, and now I’m left confused and unsure about how this situation was handled. I feel totally embarrassed on how the situation was handled they made me feel like a thief lesson learn double check your machine to make sure no money is in it ( and the chair wasn't even turned) sorry this really stressed me out
Sad to report that the spa didn't live up to my previous experiences on a recent visit. At this price point, customers are paying heavily for service and amenities as a good massage can be had for a third of the price. However, the overall spa experience was poor. The main amenity space went out of order before 11am, mainly due to problems with the soaking spa. We were surprised it even took until then for the spa staff to notice because we noticed right away during our tour that it was weirdly brown and foamy. Because half the spa space was closed, the other amenities spaces were overcrowded. Needless to say, the staff was not forthcoming about the problems nor did they make an attempt to provide a positive customer experience in spite of the problem. They basically told us to use the hotel jacuzzi and then acted like this should be the same--definitely not with 30 screaming kids. Not exactly the serene spa experience I was seeking. In addition to that, multiple faucets and other items were not working and the soaps were empty most of the time. At checkout, they gave us a $20 facilities discount, but that isn't much when you are dropping $400 for the experience
Mainly the spa staff seemed completely uninformed about general operations and didn'taeem to care to go out of their way much. Overall, always feel lucky and thankful to spend a day at the spa, but disappointing experience for the price point.

My wife and I lost our daughter recently and needed to get out of the house for the weekend. So we decided to go up to blackhawk for the weekend to try and have a little fun. We chose to play at the Monarch Casino, and did so from about 6-9 p.m. on Friday, March 13th. All was well until we encountered an Asian women (Supervisor in the section where we were playing three card poker), she was wearing a tan and brown blazer, buttoned up, sleeves rolled up, with dark colored pants, and a black surgical mask. My wife and I played together for a bit and then I got up. I sat back down to play and gave my players card to the dealer who yelled it out for one of the supervisors to enter it. She came over and mumbled something and left. Didn't think anything of it. We continue to play and then I decide I was done. As I sat there waiting for my wife to finish playing, the dealer yelled my players card out again to get it into the system. Another white male supervisor came over and was not sure about who was wear and picked the card up and placed it back down. When the Asian woman came back over to the table, I asked her about it and she snapped it was already in, rolled her eyes, and left the table. She then came back to the table to make an announcement , but it was hard to hear her. We told her we were unable to hear her and she rolled her eyes again and the whispered something the dealer and walked away. If this wasn't enough, she returned to the table to continue making faces, rolling her eyes, shaking her head at us and then walking away. She then walked across from our table gesturing and speaking something to the dealer about us whose back was facing us. She then proceeded to go down a few tables past us to a table full of Asian patrons and joyfully interact with them. At this point, we felt targeted and discriminated against. My wife pulled her chips back during this time because it became uncomfortable. I went over to the cashiers cage to ask how to report a complaint and the representative directed me to the pit boss. He had just left the area and entered the restroom, so I waited. As I was waiting, I met Jordan (I am not sure what level of mgmt) and explained what was going on and he said he would take care of it. He went to speak to her at that moment, but I do not know what was said. I noticed that during the talk she was laughing, so it did not really feel as if it was taken seriously. Jordan came back over to me and told me to let him know if there were any further issues and I thanked him. I am sure this woman profiled us and decided we were nothing and acted accordingly. You should never judge a book by its cover, but she certainly did. I am not sure if we will be returning to play at or stay at the Monarch in the future. I am thankful our night was salvaged at Ameristar! They were welcoming and lots of fun, which is what we needed in the worst way.
