    I had the most disappointing makeup service on Halloween and would not recommend booking beauty services at this location. I have been scheduling makeup appointments at Sephora for years and have always loved the results. This was my first time visiting the Santa Monica Promenade location, and it will definitely be my last. While my makeup artist was very kind and sweet, it was clear she had little experience and was not properly trained for this kind of look. I came in with a photo of exactly what I wanted, a lion-inspired Halloween makeup with bushy brows, cat-eye liner, a cat nose, and whiskers. Unfortunately, I left with none of that. She started by asking if I wanted foundation, which was strange since it was a full makeup appointment. Then, when she began my eyebrows, she immediately told me she did not know how to do bushy brows. She asked another artist for help, who explained how to achieve the look, but she still could not do it. She kept trying, wiping them off, and starting over with eyeliner pencil, brow gel, and eyeshadow. She wiped and smudged so much that my skin looked visibly darker. After about 20 minutes, I told her to skip the brows altogether. Next, she started on the cat nose and whiskers. Using a black pencil, she drew a crooked cat nose and uneven dots for whiskers that were all different sizes with no symmetry. While drawing the whisker dots, she smeared the nose and never fixed it, leaving it messy. Finally, she tried the cat-eye liner. The photo showed thin, sharp wings, but she could not recreate it. After several failed attempts, I told her to move on. The eyeliner was uneven, with one side thicker and higher than the other. She also skipped the bottom liner after struggling to get it right. In the end, I left without most of the makeup details I wanted. I had uneven brows, uneven eyeliner, a smeared nose, and uneven whisker dots. It was such a disappointing experience. When the appointment was over, I paid and left. I felt bad for the artist because I could tell she was embarrassed, so I did not want to embarrass her further by calling the manager in front of her. Instead, I immediately called the store afterward. I was told the manager had already left, so I left a detailed voicemail. Two days later, I called again and was told the manager was not in. I explained that I had already left a message and was told I would receive a call back. That was over a week ago, and I still have not heard from anyone. For a company like Sephora, this was such a letdown, both in the quality of the service and the lack of follow-up. I will likely dispute the charge with my credit card, but Sephora should have provided better customer care and refunded the appointment directly.

    Danessa Myricks GROUNDWORK PALETTE BLOOMING ROMANCE. Does not blend well. I am older and trying to use eyeshadows that are not powdered. I do like her blushes but this palette is really not flattering at all.
