  I feel I was overcharged for a cut that I could have done myself. She charged me $175 for a cut, what was suppose to be a diva cut. I should of waited and went to a professional diva specialist that specializes in my hair. My hair is thin and curly the cut should of maybe been $40 at most. I do not recommend for cuts, save your money and or go somewhere else. She also cut off more than I asked for, I told her i wanted to keep my length and my hair is way shorter. Very disappointed 😔

  Just had a great experience getting my hair done today and thought I should tell the world! She got to know me a bit before the cut and helped me figure out the direction I wanted to go. I have had anxiety about cutting my curls but she put me at ease and really took care of me. Super happy with the result and feel like I've met a genuinely good person. I'm looking forward to getting my hair done again next time.

  Jan SAVED my hair!!! I am so glad I found Hair in the City and to have had someone as experienced as Jan give me a devacut. I desperately needed a cut because my hair was falling, breaking, was brittle, and I was having a really hard time with my natural hair. The cut that Jan gave me made my hair look amazing and I could not be happier. Although my hair is shorter than I would’ve liked, Jan did get rid of all the split ends, shaped my hair in a very nice way and put some amazing products in my hair that left it super soft. My hair now has a fresh start and I know my curls will be poppin! I will definitely come back and recommend 100%.

  Janet is the best stylist in San Diego, she started my locks over two years ago and has been good to me ever since. She does the best work I have ever gotten done in so happy being her client. She is so pleasent and her shop is spotless and neat.

  After going to numerous hair salons that damaged my hair, I was fortunate enough to find Jan over 10 years ago. She is always up to date with new trends and finds the latest and greatest products for my hair. Not sure what I’ll do when/if she ever retires!
