    I visited the store because I needed new makeup and wanted to be color-matched for foundation, lip color, blush, and bronzer before purchasing. I’m not sure if there is a new policy, but I asked to be matched so I could make sure I liked the shades prior to buying them. Kathy was assigned to assist me. She was somewhat helpful, but it felt like she was doing me a favor rather than providing customer service. At times she seemed distracted and not fully present while helping me. When I asked about applying the foundation more fully so I could properly see the shade, she told me that applying it to my whole face would be considered a “service” that requires a charge. However, that was not what I was asking for, I simply needed a proper swatch or application that would allow me to see whether the shade matched my skin. Another concern I had was that the products were not sanitized before being applied to my face until I specifically asked her to clean them first. My experiences with Sephoras in person, is it’s way too salesy nowadays and less helpful and genuine. What are associates there for if it isn’t to help color match and assist? I’d rather shop online…

    thank you phyllis! i came there on 26th early in the day and although it was busy she still made time to help me, educate, and look for extra stock when it was out. unfortunately it was out of stock but she checked online for me and offered to ship it or give me a different location close by that had it. she’s extremely knowledgeable, patient, kind, and professional! i didn’t feel pressured to buy anything but was sold on how she educated me about the product and taught me how to use. Amazing job Phyllis!
