  This was hands down one of the worst retail experiences I’ve had at the Sephora Palm Desert location. I bought a Sephora fragrance sampler set online specifically because of what was advertised on their website. The whole point is you redeem the included voucher for a full size bottle from the listed options. I went into the store ready to redeem, and suddenly I’m told the voucher lists different options than what Sephora advertised online. Two employees actually acknowledged that the website and voucher didn’t match. So clearly this wasn’t just me misunderstanding something. Then the store manager, Tania G., stepped in and instead of resolving the issue, she questioned whether my voucher was even valid and suggested it might not be part of a current promotion. At that point, it felt less like customer service and more like I was being treated as if I was trying to get away with something. And here’s the part that really blows my mind, they kept my voucher. That voucher has a unique code and is literally required to redeem the product. So I walked out with nothing. No fragrance, no voucher, no resolution. Now I have to deal with corporate to fix something that should have been handled in store in five minutes. Between the misleading advertising and how this was handled, this experience was frustrating, unnecessary, and completely avoidable.

  Like ewwww absolutely not. Me and my girlfriend came in today at least 70 people in the store we came to see the perfume and smell the testers. Had 3 separate associates come up and ask us if we needed help within 5 minutes. Me and my girlfriend were the only ones at the back wall 3rd associate yells “Let me know if yall need help back there” basically trying to put us on blast. We just left afterwards left the sourest taste in our mouths. We’ve been to Louis Vuitton and Saks 5th Ave and had way better customer service. For Sephora to be a rebranded Ulta their associates do way too much. I’ll never be back 🤮

  Being more familiar with the baby Sephora store in Kohl's, I popped in here while doing other shopping at the Gardens to pick up some Giorgio Armani foundation. I had to ask the two staff ladies that were chatting in the aisle where it was, which was met with sullen annoyance. When I couldn't find the shade I needed, she walked back with me and silently pulled it from the top of the shelf and handed it over with a bored look on her face. Whatever. I also wanted to shop for fragrance as that is one of my obsessions, and upon approaching the fragrance wall to spray scents on the sample sticks, I discovered that each bottle was attached to the shelves with a retracting cord. Not only does this instantly give a ghetto vibe (which is weird in this upscale shopping area) but the bottles that I wanted to sample on the upper shelves were difficult to manage with the cords. And lastly, when I was checking out the cashier told me my total and said "enter your phone number on the pad". I said I don't give out my number and she stared at me dumbfounded then said it was required for points or something. After declining a few times I had to tell her that my husband is an attorney and I have strict orders to never give out my phone number. Cashier goes ice cold, hands me my shopping bag and out the door I go.
