Very disappointing customer service. I visited today to buy a setting powder. I already knew exactly which one I wanted, but it wasn’t available on the display, so I simply needed someone to help me locate it. I asked a couple of employees, but they were assisting other customers. I understand they were busy, but they could have easily used their walkie-talkies to ask another team member to help. Another employee saw me waiting and completely ignored me—not even a simple acknowledgment. After waiting around 20 minutes, someone finally came to help, only to tell me the product wasn’t available in-store. There was no attempt to offer an alternative, check another location, or recommend a similar product—just a robotic response. Overall, it was a complete waste of my time. Please invest in basic customer service training. A little acknowledgment, communication, and willingness to help can make a huge difference to a customer’s experience.

The worst Sephora shopping experiences I’ve had have all been at the Yonge & Eglinton location. Today, my daughter asked to smell a fragrance, but the tester was empty. She requested help from an employee and was left waiting for over 15 minutes, despite the store being quiet and several staff members being available. In the end, the employee simply opened a new box from the shelf—something that could have been done immediately. When I asked why we had been kept waiting so long, an employee named Jose responded rudely, slammed the fragrance onto the shelf, and said, “Smell it if you want, if not, leave.” When I asked who the manager was, I was told Jose was the manager. Diana, the first employee my daughter had approached for help, was also present. Instead of addressing the issue, I was yelled at, told I had no right to complain, and instructed to leave the store. Unfortunately, this is not the first time I’ve experienced rude and dismissive service at this location. I have had similar issues in the past when seeking assistance or making returns. Based on multiple negative experiences, this is by far the worst Sephora location I have visited.

I’ve been shopping at Sephora(midtown)for years, but unfortunately my recent experience was disappointing. The customer service feels very different from what it used to be. During my visit, a staff member made a comment that I found disrespectful and embarrassing, especially as it was said in front of other customers. No one expects perfect service every time, but basic kindness and professionalism should be the standard. I hope Sephora takes customer feedback seriously and works on improving the in-store experience.

This review is specifically for associate named Usmita. I've encountered her twice and both times she was pleasant, welcoming, informative, vibrant and everything that good customer service is supposed to be. She will be the reason why I come back xoxo
