  Walked into Sephora today to look at items for potential Christmas gifts and had a lovely conversation with lady by the name of Maggie. They were super sweet and had amazing gift ideas and pointed out some really nice products. 100% will be back to make some purchases!

  We encountered a horrible experience at this store between 2:30pm to 3:00pm at Masonville Sephora. We usually visit stores to buy something to prevent exchanges/returns but this time we made an online purchase and it was delivered on Sep 11, 5pm. The concealer and foundation was tested only once the next day and it was 1 tone darker than her shade. So, we went to the store to exchange it today on Sep 13th. After getting help for the correct tone, we proceeded to the counter for the exchange. There was no any kind of welcome from the cashier, was told to enter the number to access account. Cashier asked if we used the product, we replied ‘yes’ (since it was tested once) and they proceeded to look for the content in the concealer bottle, called Adam, and discussed something. Adam told us the concealer had been heavily used and only 2/3 is left. We mentioned that it was delivered to us 2 days ago, and has been tested once. But they randomly dismissed us and walked away. I kept my calm till then and repeated the timeline again to the cashier and assured that it was tested only once, but they keep on insisting and were indicating that we were lying. Then, I requested to call her manager. Then came Erin, no acknowledgement to the customer, chatted briefly with cashier and proceeded to kiosk to help us out. For understanding sake, I asked her why we were treated this way and nobody would believe what we said. Erin offensively said that she doesn’t know what happened there but we are lucky that she is helping us. We did not appreciate the tone she used because it was downright unprofessional and rude. Upon confronting about her and other staff’s behaviour, we were told that she can deny an exchange and walk us out of the door. We walked out embarrassed being indirectly told that we are trying to abuse the return policy. Me and my spouse are both professional accountants and we understand our morals. I do not want to go to this path but it made me question if we encountered this experience because we have a different skin tone or if we become a prey of a generalised perspective resulting from some other similar case where people from the same/similar culture have exploited the return policy. I would like to humbly request the corporate investigate into this issue so that somebody like us don’t have to deal with this excruciating embarrassment.

  Great skincare products, they offer expensive and also some affordable items which is nice to have the best of both worlds when it comes to cosmetics and skincare!

  The staff were not welcoming at all, no greeting when I walked in, very little acknowledgment, and some employees seemed to actively avoid eye contact. I didn’t feel comfortable asking for help because the overall attitude came across as cold and uninterested.
