  I came in to return a few lipsticks I had purchased online. I was informed that because it was National Lipstick Day, my return could only be processed as an exchange. Although I was frustrated because this wasn’t clearly stated when I placed my order or in the return policy I had read, I remained polite and was willing to exchange my items. The issue was not the policy—it was how I was treated. When my friend and I walked in, the store was almost empty. Two employees were standing behind the cash talking, and we had to approach them before we were acknowledged. During the interaction, I explained that I wasn’t sure which lipsticks I wanted and would rather come back another day. Despite this, one employee asked for my order number, began inspecting my items, and kept them at the cash even after I said I wasn’t ready to proceed with the exchange. I found this very uncomfortable and confusing. What upset me the most was the difference in how we were treated compared to other customers. We watched the employees happily engage with others, helping them choose shades and making conversation, while my friend and I received cold looks and felt unwelcome throughout our visit. Instead of feeling like valued customers, we felt judged and uncomfortable. One employee, Kelly, was also applying her own makeup while we were shopping. When I asked her a question, she brushed me off and gave me a dry answer and continued doing her makeup instead of helping me. That level of customer service was disappointing and unprofessional. I have shopped at MAC many times before and have never experienced treatment like this. I left without completing my exchange because the atmosphere made me feel so uncomfortable. I hope management takes this feedback seriously. Every customer deserves to be treated with respect and professionalism, regardless of whether they’re making a purchase, an exchange, or a return.

  Had a very personal and sweet experience with Kelly at Mac Cosmetics in Sherway on Saturday! Kelly, you made me feel confident and I looked beautiful! I received many compliments on your choice of colours and the overall clean and natural look over the day and night! Every time i passed a mirror I whispered-thank you Kelly! ❤️

  I was at the Sherway Gardens MAC today and just wanted to say thank you to the girl who helped me. I forgot her name, but she was a lovely Black associate. She was so kind and made my shopping experience really nice. Please let her know I really appreciated her help! ❤️
