I am writing to bring attention to an incident I witnessed at your Marina del Rey, CA Sephora location in November 2025, involving the store manager, Bernice, that left me deeply concerned.
During my visit, I observed the manager publicly belittle an employee and accuse him of stealing, even though it was clear he had done nothing wrong. Her tone and demeanor were harsh, demeaning, and completely inappropriate. She did everything but physically frisk him, which made the situation even more humiliating for the employee. This interaction took place in front of many customers, including myself, all of whom witnessed the exchange.
As someone who works as a vendor in the retail industry, I understand the importance of professionalism, respectful communication, and appropriate internal handling of concerns. Her conduct was unacceptable and not reflective of Sephora’s values or standards. As a customer, it was extremely uncomfortable to witness, and it has made me reluctant to return to that location.
Additionally, I want to note that the Marina del Rey store appeared noticeably unclean during my visit, which further detracted from the overall customer experience.
I am sharing this feedback so the matter can be addressed appropriately. Employees, and customers, deserve an environment that is respectful, supportive, and aligned with the culture Sephora promotes.
