- JJJoss1 day ago5.0great experience at Sephora — Elaysia (not sure if I spelled that right) walked me through a step by step process of their setting and loose powder application, and gave me really good recommendations based on what I was looking for. They were super helpful and kind, really appreciated all their help!

The line was almost to the front of the door after I called the customer service, She finally had two people with the mobile devices to start helping the line. So many staff just waiting around laughing and talking and not helping

I went in was not greeted as I walked around the store I kept looking for help and stumbled upon two beauty advisors one a short woman with a mask and another a bald guy with rounded glasses. I asked a simple question if I could be shown some bronzers for my skin tone. I was then shown to the sephora collection which he proceeded to show me the DARKEST shade in the collection as he swatched it on me I looked at him in confusion this shade was not my shade at all I suffer from anxiety so speaking up is extremely hard for me. As he swatched I was like this doesn’t look like the right shade he the proceeded to swatch another completely wrong shade. I then asked him can you maybe show me danessa myricks or another bronzer something along my skin tone and something POC friendly. He couldn’t think of one and instead of asking for help he shown me to danessa to again try and swatch me the darkest shade in that collection. I got nervous and overwhelmed so I said maybe i’ll just look around thank you which he stormed off said nothing to me and didn’t ask me any discovery questions to understand what i was looking for. I felt completely forgotten about, not prioritized, unseen and I felt like a burden. I also felt like his lack of knowledge and wanting to help me was racially motivated. As a black woman it was truly sad to go in there looking for help and to leave feeling like i was the problem. zits 2925 and no one should have to step foot in a sephora without feeling like they matter especially when this company talks about diversity. This was utterly disgusting and disappointing and I will be escalating this matter to corporate.
