Ordered 3 items + a free gift for store pickup. Came during lunch the same day and a very nice associate helped me. However, a week later, I go to separate the gifts, I see the more expensive set I ordered was not there. In place was a second on-the-go set, which is way smaller and cheaper. So I drove to Century City mall again to have them resolve the issue. Manager was rude. Didn’t want to help, didn’t apologize, and even seemed mad. Gross.

I’m honestly in shock. My mom bought a face cream from the L’Occitane store in Century City (10250 Santa Monica Blvd) — and it turned out to be unsealed, with no expiration date, no certification, and no receipt was given.
She trusted the brand and bought it as a premium product, but when she got home, she realized there was no protective foil inside, no date anywhere on the box, and the next day we went back to the store to return or exchange it.
However, the staff refused to help, saying, “It’s from France, so there’s no expiration date.”
That explanation makes no sense. How can a skincare product be sold without a seal, without a date, and without any proof that it’s safe?
I feel really bad that my mom spent money on something like this. For a brand that positions itself as luxury and trustworthy, this experience was truly disappointing.

Honestly, I’m shocked. I bought a face cream at the L’Occitane store in Century City, and when I opened it at home — there was no protective film, no expiration date, and not even any certification to show it’s real or safe to use.
I went back to the store thinking it was a mistake, but they just told me, “It’s from France, they don’t put expiration dates.” Really? For skincare? That’s not okay. Every product that touches someone’s skin should have clear information about what it is and when it expires.
I used to really like this brand — it felt classy and trustworthy. But now I’m honestly disappointed and even a bit scared to use it. How can you sell a cream without any date or proof that it’s safe? It just feels wrong.

I purchased L’Occitane Immortelle Précieuse Cream at 10250 Santa Monica Blvd, Century City, CA on Saturday. It was supposed to be a simple, pleasant experience — but it turned into a major disappointment.
When I came home, I realized that the jar had no protective seal inside and looked already opened. I checked the bag carefully — no receipt was provided. When I returned to the store, the staff refused to issue a refund or exchange the product, even though it was clearly sold in this condition.
When I asked about the expiration date and certification, I was told that since the product comes from France, it “does not have an expiration date.” This answer is absolutely unacceptable for a skincare product sold in the United States. Every cosmetic product should include proper labeling, certification, and a visible expiration or manufacturing date for consumer safety.
The jar was sold unsealed, without certification, without expiration information, and without a receipt — and the store did nothing to resolve it. I only asked for a fair solution: either a replacement or a refund, but they refused both.
I have purchased the same cream many times in other countries and cities, and it was always sealed and properly labeled. This experience completely ruined my trust in this brand and this store’s management.
Consumers deserve transparency and safe products. I will be filing a formal complaint with the California Department of Consumer Affairs (DCA) and sharing this information on social media so that others are aware of this issue.

I was at this store during the week and the service was just perfect on the weekend when I return the service with a thumbs down.🤔
