  I walked in at 10am (no appt) for a highlight on my roots, was happy the girl said Dee could take me. I showed her the color bottle that my hair stylist uses on my hair and asked if she had that color, she didn’t but assured me that the bleach she uses will give me same color. Dee’s hair was also bleached blonde like mine so I had no reason to think otherwise. Dee took off the foils from my hair, and my hair was so ORANGE instead of bleached blonde. I was very upset. I told her this is orange and not blonde. She said she had to blow dry it and it would be lighter. After blow drying my hair, the color was still a very ugly orange now. She said sometimes that happens when highlighting darker roots. I told her I have been getting my hair highlighted over 20 years and I have never had my hair turn orange from highlighting. She took me to wash my hair and put something in my hair she was rubbing around for 20 mins, saying it will tone it out. It didn’t and my scalp was burning a little but I didn’t say anything because I wanted my hair fixed. She put highlights in it again and ironed my hair on the highlights. I never went under the warm hair dryer like my hair stylist does. After this time she took them out and I told her my hair still looks orange. It wasn’t as bad as the first time but it was still very noticeable orange. All I wanted was my roots bleached blonde like my hair is. She took me to the washer again and washed my hair and rubbed toner in it for ever. She kept saying this is way better, looks much better. Some of her coworkers walked over and told her what to do. Not to rub so much on my hair and let it sit for 10 mins. She finally took me back to the chair and started drying my hair. My hair is still orange, not as bright bright orange as the first time but very orange. Dee told me I can come back to her in a few days for a touch up and not be charged because she wanted me happy with my hair. Dee was a very sweet lady and I feel bad leaving a bad review but I was not happy with the outcome at all. I wanted a touch up of my blonde roots, and left with orange roots and hair. The colors aren’t mixed in that well either. Some spots are way lighter than others. I will not go back there even though she was a nice lady, she didn’t do my hair good. My scalp burned, and my hair color was it what I wanted. I still paid and tipped her, because I am not a jerk, she did try to get my hair back blonde but she couldn’t. I’m no hair expert or stylist so I don’t know what went wrong and why my hair turned orange. This has never happened to me before. I thought JC Penny Salon would be okay for a highlight. I have gone to JC Penny Salon one time in Palm Desert for a highlight and I left happy. No issues so I had no reason to think there would be a problem when I went to El Cajon. I didn’t leave there until 4:30pm. Six and a half hours later and my hair was still horrible. Most highlights take an hour and half. Not sure what the problem was here but I will not be going back.

  I scheduled appointment with Trini at 1:45pm for hair treatment and haircut, I came 10 minutes before my appointment, receptionist told me that Trini is busy with client and I should wait, after 40 minutes of waiting Trini was still busy with client, so cancelled my appointment and left, what is a point to schedule appointment if you have to wait forever?, looks like it’s ok to them to be late, but not for me, terrible customer service, don’t recommend, run away from this place

  Been going to them for years mostly for haircuts but for the past few years have been going for a color/dye. They are always nice and friendly, a fun environment. The appt I had today was the best of them all though. Natalie did an amazing job on my hair and I love it. She was just as excited as I was when drying it and seeing the color really come out and show. Thank you!
