  I had a really disappointing experience at Great Clips in Clayton when my husband brought our 2-year-old son in for a haircut. From the very beginning, the stylist seemed visibly agitated and impatient while they were waiting. As most parents know, toddlers don’t always sit perfectly still—especially at that age. My son moved his head slightly, and instead of handling it with patience or professionalism, she started calling him out in a negative way. What really crossed the line was when she said he “doesn’t deserve a lollipop” and even told my husband not to give him one. He’s TWO years old. That kind of comment is completely inappropriate and honestly shocking to direct at a child. The whole experience felt uncomfortable and unwelcoming. It seemed like she had no patience for kids, which is concerning for a place that offers children’s haircuts. Her negative energy was noticeable from the start, and it likely made my son even more uneasy. We will not be returning. If you’re bringing in young children, I would strongly recommend going somewhere that is more patient, kind, and experienced with kids. If you do choose to go there maybe just avoid Tammy, however if her colleagues and manager support her working there I would rethink supporting this business.

  Tammy helped me with getting my first haircut in almost 10yrs. She suggested donating since a lot was being chopped off which was awesome because I had always thought of doing it. But she did a great job with the haircut and was very happy with the results

  I am so happy with the care and attention I received from my stylist Tracie. I had not had a haircut in 6 months. I had very short haircuts for 10 years. I really wasn't sure what I wanted to do with my hair. I had gone to two different salons trying to figure out whether I could keep it longer or go back shorter. Again, Tracie listened to my uncertainty as to how to cut my hair and what would work best for my hair. She didn't try to talk me into a hairstyle. I told her that I don't blow dry my hair, and I don't use product. Other stylists I've gone to just ignore that I say that. They start saying, "When you blow dry it...". She is definitely a hair whisperer. I look forward to working with Tracie. It is so nice to find a local stylist.

  Kate cut my hair and did a great job. She was not only talented as a stylist, but also very kind and really listened to what I wanted done. I was also impressed with how clean and orderly this salon was. And the music was pleasant and at a nice volume.
