  I had an amazing experience at Sephora! Huge thank you to Yaraha and Amber, The customer service was outstanding from start to finish. The makeup artist/esthetician was incredibly talented, professional, and made me feel beautiful and confident. Thank you for the amazing service and attention to detail. I truly appreciate the wonderful experience and can't wait to come back!

  appointment with Hayley W on August 1 (4:45–5:45 p.m.). Although I arrived 12 minutes late, I still expected professional and respectful service. Unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing. I specifically asked for brown eyebrows, but Hayley W ignored my request and chose a different color without asking for my approval. She spent a long time blending one area, repeatedly checked her watch, took extra time when she went to get products, and spent time talking and laughing with another makeup artist instead of focusing on my appointment. At the end of the appointment, she told me my time was up and did not finish my makeup. She did not apply setting spray, did not do my lips, and did not apply blush. My makeup was left incomplete, and I was very unhappy with the result. I felt disrespected and ignored throughout the appointment. I understand that I arrived 12 minutes late, but I expected the remaining appointment time to be used professionally. Instead, I felt that time was wasted, and my requests were not respected. I have photos of the final makeup. Since I can't attach them to this public review, I'm happy to provide them if Sephora requests them. This was the worst makeup experience I have ever had. I would appreciate Sephora investigating this matter and providing an appropriate resolution. I would also appreciate a response regarding how this issue will be addressed. Thanks

  GREAT and BAD service. I went to Sephora today to get a gift for a colleague. A staff member approached me right away, was very professional, kind, and helpful. She helped me find exactly what I was looking for in a matter of minutes <- real great service, I don't know her name but she had a pink hijab. Then I went to pay, I felt the service was the total opposite. The lady was not polite, almost made me feel like I shouldn't be there. I asked for a bag - and it was too small (the gift was too big) so I asked for a bigger bag, she showed up with a HUGE bag, which was ridiculous - so I asked for the small bag, she was visibly unhappy at that request. I felt I was not wanted in the store.

  Unfortunately I had a terrible experience with the 60 minute makeup service by artist Zunera K at Sephora Willobrook Langley. Although she is a friendly individual, her skills are woefully lacking in terms of doing a low-key makeup look, especially on a black woman’s skin and feature template. I left looking pasty and scaly looking instead of glowing and dewy as I had asked for. She told me with time it would set and you ll get the glowing look: so I left hopeful, this never happened. My friend called Sephora back when I got home, complaining and they blamed me for not speaking up before leaving. She did a very poor job highlighting my cheekbones, accentuating my eyes and even lining my lips. I ended up looking like a clown with the red lipstick she suggested and was ultimately unable to skillfully blend. She lacks attention to detail as I had to correct her multiple times to blend the powder she slabbed on my skin. I even had to line my lips myself. I don’t usually get a full face but I have been to Sephora at other locations in BC and they have all done a stellar job. I was so disappointed and heartbroken after the look because I had to ultimately shower and remove the entire makeup before my evening event. TLDR: I would not recommend Zunera K for anyone looking for a sophisticated beautiful look, especially if you are a black woman. I recommend she upgrades her skills and learn from others before continuing to offer services.

  My boyfriend and I went into Sephora looking for skincare products about 15 minutes before closing. We understood they were closing soon, and an employee let us know how much time we had, which was completely fine. However, when we got to the checkout, the employee helped my boyfriend complete his purchase and then simply turned around and walked away without acknowledging or assisting me. I waited for a while, but no one came to help, so I ended up leaving my items at the front and walking out. I found it very degrading that we came in together, yet only one of us was helped. It made me feel singled out, and I couldn't help but wonder if my skin colour played a role in how I was treated. I truly hope that wasn't the case, but the experience left me feeling uncomfortable and unwelcome. Customer service should be respectful and consistent for everyone. I hope the staff receive additional training on common courtesy and ensuring all customers are treated equally, especially when they arrive and shop together!
