I visited Sephora with my mom on June 18 between 10–11 a.m. to return an item we bought the other day that had NEVER been used. I did not expect such a simple return to be such a frustrating experience.
The item was purchased on my mom’s account. She is a Rouge member and shops at Sephora frequently, yet the employee assisting us treated us as though we were trying to abuse the return policy. Unfortunately, I did not catch her name, but she was a brown woman working at the register.
She initially asked to see the card used for the purchase. I explained that I did not have the physical card with me and only had it in Apple Pay. She immediately told me, “Sorry, I can’t help you.” However, when my mom came over, she suddenly changed her answer and said she only needed to see the card through Apple Pay. Why did she give me such a tough time before?
What bothered me most was the employee’s attitude throughout the interaction. While my mom was pulling up the receipt on her phone, the employee impatiently asked, “Can I HELP you?” in a rude and dismissive tone, clearly trying to rush us. We were among the only customers in the store at the time, so there was no reason for such impatience.
Bad experience overall. Me and my mom were made to feel like thieves and felt very uncomfortable and unwelcome in the store. The return was absolutely legitimate, and there was NO reason to treat us with so much hostility and impatience. I have never had such an experience at the Sephora in Southgate.
My experience at the store was uncomfortable. While I was being assisted by a long haired employee, a Black lady supervisor (I believe, though I don’t know her name) called out an employee about what seemed to be her break in front of me before we had even finished. I still needed help, but she tried to pass me to another employee, which made the experience feel unprofessional and awkward. I honestly felt bad for the employee.
I got my Brows done from Hope and she was amazing! She got the brief to the point, made it look natural and she is very precise with her work. Was my first time for lamination and tint and the experience was seamless
