  I have never been to a Sephora anywhere (US or Canada) where I haven't been greeted. Asked if I was looking for anything specific. Today, I'd have loved some assistance; I saw groups of associates standing around on their phones (including at the front door -- presumably to "greet" people; checking Insta instead.) I picked our $160 worth of goods -- on my own. Without advice/assistance. Cashier asked if I was helped, and I said "No." She kind of shrugged. As I left, the "greeter" yelled: "Thanks for coming in!!" At the risk of sounding like an old fogey: what's happened to service?

  I recently had a frustrating experience at Sephora that could have been avoided with better customer service and communication. I was looking for a specific eyeshadow that was unfortunately out of stock. The sales associate kindly suggested ordering it online with free delivery to my home — great solution! Unfortunately, when my order arrived a few days later, the wrong eyeshadow had been ordered. I returned to the store, and the product was still not in stock, even though their system showed one available at that location. The associate did, however, see one available at the Deerfoot City (64 Ave) location. After already experiencing an inventory error, I asked if she could call the other store to confirm before I drove 30 minutes each way. I didn’t want to waste another trip if their inventory system was incorrect again. I was told they are not allowed to call other stores and cannot put items on hold. I explained that I was simply trying to correct an error made by the store and avoid another wasted trip. After being firm, the associate did call the location — which I appreciated — and I made the trip. However, this entire process required extra time, effort, and fuel expenses on my part, none of which will be given back after having to fix an issue that was not caused by me. Then came another frustration: if you have never been to the Deerfoot City location, the map directions are incorrect. I called the store for help, and they confirmed they are aware of the problem, yet it still has not been fixed. Overall, this experience became much more complicated than it needed to be. Mistakes happen, but what matters is how a company supports its customers afterward. Sephora needs to listen to both customers and employees when these frustrations are brought forward and look for ways to make the process smoother.

  The makeup artist Anara did make up for my daughter. The makeup was really amazing. I will recommend her. She is amazing with her job.
