But while being serviced today by a different stylist, I was told that my hair was weird, made to feel judged for how thick and dry my hair is (this is usually normal as I do have thick and curly hair, however this time it felt hurtful). I've never been asked why parts of my hair were shorter than others before, and did not appreciate feeling incompetent for not being in control of how fast/thick my hair grows or how much "damage" there was. I haven't used heat on it for 5 years, I try to get it cut pretty regularly, and I've tried every product on the planet, yet was still told that I needed leave-in conditioners and hair masks. This person looked upset and annoyed to be there the entire time I was in the chair, making me nervous to ask for what I wanted. Gonna go to another salon to see if they can fix it up as I just wanted to get out of there.
