- LDLauren DeMarcoSep 8, 20251.0I went into JCPenney Salon hoping to fix a bad haircut, and instead I left with my hair even more damaged and much shorter than I ever agreed to. I specifically explained to the stylist that I wanted to correct the blunt cut while preserving as much length as possible. Instead, she immediately started cutting off way more length, creating a harsh obvious “shelf” layer in the front, and used thinning shears excessively (removing even more of what little hair I had left). When I told her she was taking off too much, she didn’t stop, she kept cutting and said that’s the way it’s done. At that point I had to physically get out of the chair and end the haircut myself because she was not listening and was making things worse. That should never happen in a professional salon. I left devastated, with shorter, uneven hair that will take months (if not years) to grow back. For anyone considering corrective work, please be cautious here. What I expected was a stylist who would listen, communicate, and carefully preserve my hair. What I got was the opposite; rushed cutting, dismissive responses, and irreversible damage.
