  I would not recommend this salon due to unprofessional behavior. I requested a simple wash and braid through the company website originally. Upon arrival, the stylist I was scheduled to be with said she "didn't do braids" and refused to do my hair. The manager, Tamika, stepped in, and did a wonderful job. At the end of the visit, she scheduled me for a follow up. I don't believe this was through the website, and I did not receive a reminder when that appointment came; rather I received a text stating I had missed the appointment. I apologized and requested to reschedule;after several prompts, the appointment was rescheduled to 3/7 at 5, as she stated this was the only time available. She texted again to push the time to 530. When I arrived at 530, I was not greeted. Around 545 another staff asked if I had been assisted, and I said no, and that I had an appointment. I continued to wait until 620, where I mentioned that I had a dinner reservation at 8 and would need to leave; she stated that she could still do my hair but was not close to finishing the style she was working on for someone else, and the store had just announced it would be closing within 20 minutes. She then said she would be available Monday and I mentioned having work. She did not apologize, and in fact this entire scenario seemed almost purposeful due to me missing a prior appointment. She stated she would send me her availability for Monday. After this, I reached out twice to reschedule the appointment, where she did not respond. Due to this, I called the company number and filed a formal complaint. Only then did she reach out with an apology which stated: "Hello, I am sorry you think I deliberately told you to come Saturday and wasn't going to do your hair. I didn't think it would have to take that long with the client I was dealing with at the time". This is 1) not an apology for wasting my time and 2) only occurring because I filed a complaint. As stated before, I reached out twice to reschedule and was ignored, which is the reason this felt purposeful. JCPenney has done nothing to rectify or resolve the situation. I would recommend going with a different salon with more organization and professionalism.

  Staying at the Hyatt at the Riverchase Galleria. I needed a haircut and heard that JC Penny had a salon. (Tucked way in the back) Dropped in for a men’s haircut and it was both great and reasonably priced. Tamica was both exceptionally skilled and lovely to talk with. Value for the quality was exceptional. Five stars, would definitely go back the next time I am in town!

  Blaine is an awesome hair stylist!! The Salon is located inside of JC Penny on the 2nd floor. The carry lots of hair supplies...

  The stylist didn't know what product to use for finger coiling natural black ethnic hair. By the time I realize what she was using 'Mousse" and not Gel it was to late. My hair is a hot mess this morning. I paid and left a tip because she did the shampoo/conditioning, but styling was awful. All hair is not the same, your fellow hair stylist can suggest something if you don't know or go on YouTube. I know JCP has great stylist, but this time I'm very disappointed in the finishing product. My normal hair stylist came from JCP but was out of town.
