I went in to smell some perfumes so I could decide which one I’d like for my friends to buy me as a birthday gift. Almost immediately, one of the employees started following me around the store like I was about to steal something. When I tried a mascara tester, she told me I couldn’t due to hygiene — which I understand — but the way she spoke to me was incredibly rude and condescending. The tone, the attitude, and the way she handled it were completely unnecessary. Even after that, she continued watching me as I walked around, which made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. I’ve been shopping at Sephora for years and have never experienced anything like this. I’ve worked at Park Place Mall for over 3.5 years and was even friends with one of the previous managers here — customer service used to be amazing. This level of rudeness and judgment is completely unacceptable, and I’m shocked this behaviour is tolerated in a store that’s supposed to pride itself on customer experience. Absolutely disappointed and will be reconsidering future purchases here.
