    My friend, and I, came to Sephora, to do some holiday shopping, and to get a shade match, for a product. The employee who helped us, named Angelica, was the absolute kindest, and she was so amazing and helpful!!! I got a shade match that I actually felt is true to my skin tone, unlike some of my previous experiences, at Sephora. Also, Noha is too kind!! Overall, a wonderful experience!

    I visited Sephora at West Edmonton Mall today with my family and friends, and unfortunately, it was another disappointing experience. I was hesitant to go in because of what happened during my previous visit. At that time, I spent nearly $300 on makeup after trusting the staff’s recommendations. The employee who initially matched my skin tone walked away mid-consultation and passed me to different staff (3rd) members, who all seemed uninterested and recommended shades that were completely wrong for my complexion. I didn’t realize it until later because I hadn’t opened the products for about a month due to my travel . When I finally used them during my family event , even a professional beautician confirmed the shades were clearly incorrect. By the time I returned, the 90-day return policy had already passed. Today, I went back reluctantly because my friend wanted to browse. As soon as we walked in, the security guard continuously followed us around the store, even though others were touching and testing products freely. The way we were watched made us feel uncomfortable, judged, and unwelcome. It felt as though assumptions were being made based on our appearance and skin tone, which is unacceptable and hurtful for any customer. This is my second negative experience, and I left feeling disappointed and disrespected. Sephora is known for beauty, confidence, and inclusiveness, but unfortunately, I did not feel any of those values during my visits at this location.

    I came into sephora a few days ago, and it was very busy and i was struggling to find the products i was looking for. Ayah offered help and she was amazing! She helped me find all the right products and even suggested new products to add to my routine. She seemed very knowledgeable and knew what she was doing! Ayah even offered to check me out herself since i had a stroller with me and the line was very long! She was very helpful, cheerful and very sweet! Will be coming back to this location for sure!

    Just want to give a huge shout out to Gracie! We went into the store not knowing what we were looking for in terms of skincare, but Gracie suggested enough products to us without being overwhelming. She let us know which ones would be safer options for us as people who don’t have a set skin care routine, and educated us on the different ingredients in these products. She did all this while also being personable and friendly, she was so lovely to speak to. Thank you Gracie!

    I went to Sephora today to pick up my birthday gift and bought something from the Sephora Collection as well. Unfortunately, I had a disappointing experience with the cashier. I politely asked for the lip combo birthday gift, but when I checked later, I realized she had given me the hair care one instead. When I asked about a 400-point reward bag that was displayed, I was told it was only for “VIP” members, even though I have over 400 points and was willing to purchase it if needed. The way she responded felt dismissive and unhelpful, which really put me off, especially since I was just trying to celebrate my birthday and make a small purchase. I love Sephora and usually have great experiences, but this interaction was disappointing. I hope the staff can be reminded to provide the same level of kindness and helpfulness to every customer, regardless of how much they spend.
