    Shopping experience on Nov 09 at 4:30PM (Sephora Chinook Mall, Calgary, Alberta) 1. Product handling & basic service: During checkout, the express check-out associate accidentally dropped the eyeshadow palette from the high counter while scanning it, causing concealed damage. She handed it back without checking it or apologizing. We had to request to inspect it ourselves, and once we confirmed the damage, she asked us to wait while she looked for a replacement. She also didn’t offer a bag for the lipstick we purchased, which made the experience feel more like grocery shopping than Sephora. 2. Long wait with no acknowledgement: We waited over 20 minutes while Hally went back and forth checking for stock. Throughout this time, there was no apology or acknowledgment until the very end—just one single “sorry,” moments before we asked to speak with a manager. In the end, there was no replacement and the product wasn’t available online, so we left without the item we intended to buy. 3. Unprofessional response from the manager: We spoke with the manager, Ceilidh, who did apologize, but her response felt insincere. We also mentioned we were not offered a small bag for the lipstick we purchased, she asked, “Do you need a bag?” instead of simply offering one, which felt unprofessional—especially given the situation. I said no because I was already fed up with the overall experience, but a small paper bag is something I would normally expect with any purchase. If you don’t offer a bag for a small product, having to put a lipstick in my pocket felt awkward and could have easily created the wrong impression.

    Had an amazing experience at this Sephora location, my friend and I went there to address some skin concerns, Miranda attended to us, she recommended products, answered our questions patiently and politely, she also told us about the huge promo coming up, she deserves the staff of the year award lol. Waited a bit to share this review cos my friend and I wanted to see how the products she recommended would work and yo! They worked well, our skin issues are getting better now. Thanks Miranda!

    Following a significant purchase of almost $300, I asked the staff for sample products to try. As a loyal customer who enjoys discovering new products, I was disappointed to learn that samples are no longer provided. Moreover, the birthday gift was unavailable. Sephora, I know you have high standards. I hope you will take customer feedback into consideration and make necessary improvements. Store visit date: 11/10/2025
