Machine No. 5, the only unit presented as operational, was clearly unable to perform its primary function due to a critical mechanical failure: the water inlet valve was malfunctioning, resulting in a water level of approximately 1.5–2 liters (visually equivalent to less than two standard water bottles), which was clearly visible through the machine’s viewing window. This amount represents less than 10% of the water volume required for a standard 15–20 lb commercial laundry load. As a result: Primary service failure: the clothing barely became damp rather than properly soaked and rotated with no effective washing action, constituting a complete failure of implied warranty and basic service quality. Secondary service failure: the rinse cycle also operated with grossly insufficient water, leaving detergent residue and preventing proper fabric treatment. As a direct consequence, I am forced to rewash my clothing at a different truck stop where the equipment functions properly. Additionally, this location appears to maintain an outdated payment policy, refusing modern payment methods (credit/debit cards) and requiring customers to exchange cash for quarters, which, when combined with non-functioning equipment, renders the overall service unacceptable. I hope that the management of this truck stop will address this issue and repair or replace the defective equipment.
