UPDATE: As of today, my vehicle has a new and well functioning unit, there is a credit on my account for the full install, and they took my complaints seriously about one of the local shops who did the initial install. I want to say thank you to the Daniel, the representative who helped me through the entire process. You went above and beyond to help me and I really appreciate it. Dropped my vehicle off early at my local location. My appointment was for 10am, when they opened, and I left it there at 9am and put the keys in the drop box. At 5:45pm, 15 minutes before they closed, I called to find out what was going with my car since they're would be closed the next two days and I needed my vehicle back for Monday. They told me they couldn't get it calibrated and would have to wait 45 minutes on hold to speak with someone at intoxalock. I insisted they do so and complete my vehicle or remove the device and I would find someone else next week. They said they would stay and finish the work. At 7pm at night, they said my vehicle was done and ready to be picked up. Upon arrival, only the office clerk was there. She took my payment, gave me some paperwork and then took me back to my car to show me how to start it. Upon hitting the button as directed it became apparent that it was not going to work. I had no choice but to leave my vehicle and am not expected to get it back till end of day Monday if I'm lucky. If you can go with someone else, I highly recommend you do so. After paying over $200 for this install, intoxalock also charged me almost $100 with over half of it being "one time" fees that were never discussed. If I could rate this experience less than a 1, I would.

I was sent the wrong device and when intoxalock had the shop install the device they sent, that device was defective. I live 70 miles from this shop and I have little income along with having vehicle problems also. 😡👎🥺

Frequently Asked Questions About Intoxalock Ignition Interlock

How does an interlock device work?

An ignition interlock device (IID) is a small breathalyzer installed in your vehicle to prevent it from starting if alcohol is detected on your breath. Before driving, you'll blow into the device. If your breath alcohol concentration (BrAC) is below the programmed limit, the car starts. Periodic retests occur during your trip to ensure continued compliance.
