- SHSuzanne Horner6 days ago1.0False advertisement. Website says this location had a deal on oil change, yet the store refuses to honor their own ad. Employee said the $20 savings is not true. **editing to point out that the owner doesn't even know where this store is. Apparently the incompetence doesn't stop at the bridgeport store.
- JBJ. BennetFeb 4, 20265.0Stopped at the Nutter Fort Advanced Auto Parts for key fob batteries, and they went ahead and changed them for me without me even asking. Thought that was pretty great. Went back a week later for windshield wipers… and they put those on too. Again, without me asking. Parking is easy, it’s simple to pull in and out, there’s a gas station right across the street, and a tire shop right beside it—so you can knock out a bunch of errands in one stop. Super friendly, super helpful, and they actually care about their customers. Highly recommend.

Yes we do offer free battery installation on most products with purchase. We will also recycle and test your battery for free regardless if you bought it from us. Battery testing and installation is available at most of our locations.

Typically a car battery will last 2-5 years, with premium batteries lasting 5-6 years. But you should replace it every 4 years for safe measures if you want to avoid any unwanted problems.

Signs of a bad car battery can range from the need for frequent jump starts, slow to start, cranks or clicks but won't start, dash lights work but the vehicle won't start, etc.

HOW DO BRAKES WORK?

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
