- WMWill MarshallOct 3, 20255.0When disconnecting the negative cable to my car battery, I inadvertently dropped the nut and lost it. I brought the car by here to try and replace that and the gentleman who assisted me was very pleasant and extremely helpful! He grabbed just what I needed, put it in place for me and I was on my way again in about 2 minutes flat. Didn't even charge me for the nut. Not like I'd expect a huge bill for something so small, but it was still nice and a great experience all around. He was extremely helpful and the experience just made my night! It's always nice when something is made unexpectedly easy. I'll definitely be back the next time I need something!!!

Signs of a bad car battery can range from the need for frequent jump starts, slow to start, cranks or clicks but won't start, dash lights work but the vehicle won't start, etc.

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
