I was unable to find a towing company on my own, so a police officer arranged a tow for me. What followed was outright predatory. A 25-mile tow somehow turned into a $700 bill after this company piled on an absurd list of excessive and unjustified fees. When I calmly and respectfully asked if they could work with me on the price, they flatly refused. There is nothing ethical, reasonable, or defensible about charging $700 for a basic tow. Their only “solution” was to drop the bill to $250 if I signed the title of my vehicle over to them. That is not a discount — this feels like coercion in my opinion. I felt pressured and taken advantage of. I am filing formal complaints with the BBB, Walworth County, and the Wisconsin Attorney General’s office. Companies that operate this way should not be allowed anywhere near a police tow rotation. This is exactly the type of behavior that gives the towing industry a bad name. In my opinion this was, without exaggeration, one of the most unprofessional, rude, and unethical business interactions I have ever experienced. The community would be better off if this company were to go out of business. Use at your own risk.
