I can NOT say enough good things about Mike and Mike’s team. They are absolutely AMAZING. Without question, the best mechanics I have ever gone to in my life.
Here’s the story: Last year my Buick Enclave started going haywire. Every single sensor warning light you can imagine lit up like a xmas tree, and then the car began sputtering every time I pressed the gas. Naturally, I took it to a Buick dealership in West Bend (I’ll be polite and not drop the name, lol). They told me it was “just the sensors,” replaced a few things, handed me a bill that hurt, and sent me on my way. Two minutes after leaving the lot, the SAME issue was there. I honestly wonder if they even bothered to test drive it after their so-called fix. When I returned, their new story was that the transmission was likely bad, and they wanted to charge me for another round of diagnostics and then replace the whole thing for $4,000–$5,000.
Enter Mike. He had just opened his new shop in Farmington, literally down the street from me, so I figured I had nothing to lose. From the second I walked in, I felt like I was dealing with actual professionals who gave a damn. Mike diagnosed the problem almost immediately. He explained exactly what was happening, showed me the actual issues, and — surprise, surprise — it had nothing to do with the transmission. Dropped it off for the repair, he repaired the multiple sensor problems quickly, and my vehicle has been running perfectly ever since.
Here’s the kicker: when I braced myself for the bill, expecting the worst after the dealership experience, I nearly cried from relief. It was LESS than half of what I was expecting, and almost one-third less than the dealership’s so-called “fix.” Mike knows GM vehicles inside and out. Ironic, considering he clearly knows WAY more than the people who are supposed to be the “experts” at the dealership.
And it didn’t stop there. These guys continue to prove themselves every time I go in. We’re moving out of state soon and have a 2,200-mile drive ahead of us, hauling a 6x12 cargo trailer. At my last oil change, Aaron (who is also incredibly knowledgeable, helpful, and just plain kind) recommended bringing the car in before the trip so they could do a full inspection. They went through the entire vehicle, top to bottom, making sure everything was road-trip ready. Not only that, Mike even diagnosed and fixed an electrical issue with my brand new trailer. The right lights weren’t working, and he figured it out and repaired it on the spot.
That kind of care and thoroughness is almost unheard of these days. These guys are TOP NOTCH, truly the best of the best. They’re easy to work with, they take their time, and they’re straight with you. No games, no upsells, no pressure. As a woman, walking into a mechanic shop can sometimes feel like an open invitation for someone to start piling on unnecessary repairs. Mike and his team don’t play that game. They treat every customer with respect, explain everything clearly, and make sure you leave with both your car and your confidence intact.
I honestly wish I could give them more than 5 stars. If you’re in the area and need a mechanic you can trust — one who is fair, knowledgeable, professional, and just plain good people — stop wasting your time (and money) anywhere else. Take your car to Mike. You’ll thank yourself later.
Mike, Aaron and the Crew, THANK YOU for taking such great care of me and that Buick these past couple years. You've been honest, reliable and just plain incredible to work with! I will definitely miss having you guys right down the street!
My tire blew up on the road about a mile from Mike's shop. I was lucky it happened close to it. Mike within a few minutes replaced flat tire for spare one, and even didn't charge me for his amazing service.
Thank you, Mike!

The words "honest," "smart," and "mechanic" are rarely used in a sentence. I've been a customer of Mike's Auto for 15 years, (an old codger) and drive older cars with no monthly payment or depreciation -- but they do need honest, smart mechanics. I could write a dozen stories of how Mike and Aaron helped me. One "older" friend drives 1,100 miles from Tallahassee for service because she appreciates the honesty, ingenuity, and fair prices -- but most importantly, that they figure out what is wrong and how to fix it -- and fix it correctly, and do NOT add a bunch of overpriced and unnecessary or fake repair diagnoses like Auto Safety Center.
This recent story sums up my respect for Aaron & Mike:
A "senior" friend and her son were traveling back to Milwaukee when their utility van suddenly locked up, driving 65mph -- at 10:00 pm, on Hwy 10, near Waupaca. They called me, as AAA wanted to tow them to "a yard" somewhere near Waupaca, with no place to stay. In the morning, an unknown mechanic (a sequential random pick off of a list), would again tow them to his shop and fix the broken serpentine belt.
I told them to have AAA tow them 104 miles to Mike's new location near West Bend -- and at 12:30 am, in the rain, the van was dropped at Mike's. I taped a note in a plastic bag to the office door, and I drove them home in Milwaukee. At 8:15 in the morning, Aaron called, the serpentine belt was snapped -- but WHAT CAUSED it to snap was the air conditioner bearing seized, and 2 other parts also broke under the pressure. Aaron had already ordered the parts, and because this was a critical business vehicle, he had it finished that afternoon.
Added peace-of-mind is that 1) they got the job done ASAP, 2) slightly lower than the estimate, 3) did not do fake repairs, and 4) Mike's Auto warrants parts for 4 years. When I bring in my van, I simply say to Aaron, "Fix it like your wife and children are driving to California." Never had a bad outcome in 15 years...
I cannot imagine how bad it would have been if an "up north" Ford dealer/ mechanic got ahold of this locked-in repair, towed the van with a stranded older woman. Who knows if they would have discovered the cause or the other affected parts. It was worth the 104-mile tow, and me being an unpaid Uber driver until 2:30 am!
When people ask me, "How much does Mike's charge?" I reply, "I'm sure he's not the cheapest, or the highest, but he does the job right. And when I'm doing 2-day, 1,000 mile runs to Florida or Vermont, at 75-79 mph, I'm not worrying that my 23 year old van will break down. How confident are you that your repairs were done correctly, or if they were even needed?"
And take it from this old codger, seeing other people repeatedly getting cheated...
If unbelievably, you don't go to Mike's Auto, stay away from national chains of tires, or mufflers, or oil changes -- or you will pay the highest, rip-off prices, with unnecessary work from way less experienced "mechanics." They have quotas of "upsells" or get fired.
If you need a heart bypass surgery, do you shop around for the cheapest doctor and hospital? At 75-79 mph, with idiots texting & driving, do you want to be an organ donor?
