All around horrible experience. My windshield was chipped so I booked a fill in appointment. They took my car insurance so it would have been at no cost. Before they could come it spread so I called to let them know I would need a replacement instead. They told me it would be $1000 with my insurance. It wasn’t until I asked for the cost of the repair did they tell me is was only $904 so essentially they were trying to rob me of $96. We made an appointment for 5/6 and they called me the night of 5/5 to let me know that they actually had not ordered my windshield and then we had to reschedule to 5/7. The appointment was at their office at noon because they said it could be done in 2 hours. My husband dropped off the car right at noon and they confirmed it would be done in 2 hours. They started working on the car at 1:45 and then it took another hour to finish it. I wish they would have called to let us know how far behind they were, all around horrible experience and we will not be back.

I first received a mobile chip repair, which did not fill in the cracks at all or make the surface chip on my windshield flat or filled in. The warranty then covered a windshield replacement for the poor chip repair. The West Allis shop had my vehicle for almost 5 hours and were not able to recalibrate the sensors on my vehicle after replacement, so I needed to return for an additional appointment for another replacement and recalibration. The initial windshield replacement also left an over 1 inch gap on both sides of my windshield for debris, ice, snow, etc. collection and where you can now see either the black adhesive marks or chipped paint. When my windshield driving in had no visible gap between the glass. I was told if I wanted glass that fully fills in my windshield I should have specifically asked for that. I expect my vehicle to drive away looking at least how it drove in minus the broken glass. Now I'm told I can go get an estimate for paint repair instead of properly fitting glass. Unfortunate, one terrible experience after another.

these are only SOME of the pictures from DAMAGE this safelite did to my car after doing a ROCK CHIP REPAIR on my windshield. i took my car straight home after the appt and saw these DEEP LONG SCRATCHES ON MY ROOF and immediately contacted them. it took days for the manager, robert theunis, to get back to me and claim they don’t know how it happened. no apology no accountability and didn’t send their own pre inspection photos i asked for the same day of the appointment when i saw the damage. the manager admitted there’s no scratches in their pictures but still hasn’t sent them over after a week. i got this car a month ago and for me to get this much damage from a simple rock chip repair is crazy. it’s even crazier when they don’t take accountability or apologize when it did not have the damage before taking it there. i would not trust them to do anything at all to my car after this!!!! ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE.

If I could give this location zero stars I would... But I have to at least give one to type a review.
This all started a month ago. Let me set the scene... I drive a fleet car and travel 3 weeks out of the month for work either by fleet car or air. I only have Mondays/Fridays off and the one week per month that I am home to get "things" done. The first go around, I made my appointment for a Friday. They called to confirm my appointment on Thursday morning. Then 2 hours later I recieve a text saying my appointment was canceled. I called back and MICHELLE tells me the part is not in the shop and they need to reschedule. Why are you calling to confirm my appointment when the part isn't there? So I begrundgingly reschedule my appointment but now because I am to drive to Minneapolis the next week, I need to incur additional cost by renting a vehicle due to the windshield being so bad.
Now we're on this week. MICHELLE calls again to confirm my appointment. I am on back to back flights. I wake up this morning, March 27th, ready to take my car to get the glass repaired and see a text from last night when was fully emmersed in being home with my family, that my appointment has been canceled again. I then called 3x this morning... 7:15am, 7:30am, and 7:45am directly to the location to see if I could still get in this morning. No one answered the phone.
I get home and my husband calls from his phone number and VIOLA! We at least get the 800# customer service. She was nice enough but when we asked why my appointment was canceled, she said in the notes it indicated that I never confirmed my appointment. HOLD ON ONE MINUTE. Never did MICHELLE ever say in her outgoing message that she needed me to actually call back and confirm. All the message ever said was they were confirming and if I needed to reschedule to give them a call back. That 800# customer service after hearing that transferred me to the service center.
MICHELLE answers... good! And I tell her immediately "I need to know why my appointment was canceled and don't tell me it's because I didn't call back to confirm." She responss "MA'AM" and then immediately puts me on hold. (An aside I'm literally no ones ma'am and never will be. It's 2026.) Obviously MICHELLE didn't want to speak with me so she has someone else in the location pick up the phone. She was nice enough. I explain the situation. Now we're at 8:45am, 15 min after my original appointment time. I explain to her that I would need to come now in order to make this work. The whole point of the 8:30am timeframe was for me to wait while my car was being serviced and still be present on all of my work calls this morning. She tells me now they can only get me in at 12:30pm. Ok, but I have to be out of there by 2:45pm to pick my son up from school... again this is why I needed the 8:30AM!!!! She tells me that's probably not possible and I need to try and get there earlier than 12:30. OMG this was the entire point of the 8:30AM appointment!! I have meetings at least until 11:45am and that's if the meeting actually ends on time.
This has been a complete waste of my time and my companies dollars with all of this back and forth. I used to tell people that Safelite was a great option. Actually, they came to our house to complete the recent service on my husband's car and that was so smooth and amazing. I guess mobile is only through the Waukesha location though.
I was fully transparent that I'd be writing this review and they acted like they didn't care. I can't think of more than 1 other time I did this to a company, but OMFG if you want people to call back and confirm, say that in the message MICHELLE!!!! Also maybe safelite needs to have text messaging Y for Yes or N for Need to Reschedule or something like every other company on the planet.
