Surprisingly enough, I went to high school with this guy. We were friends.
Unfortunately, he didn't remember me because he was in a plane crash. But we hit it off good, we reminisced a little bit he's still a great guy. I would recommend him to anybody as a matter of fact, I talked to him about getting a job. He's that busy.
Andre is his name. At awesome auto

Intoxalock itself was good to work with the actual install place Awesome Auto was a pretty creepy place said he had a waiting area but didn't, install was supposed to have taken 2 hours it took 12 and I ended up having to help him install my ignition lock. My daughter picked me up for lunch and when I got back he wasn't around and my truck hadn't been touched. He said he was going to go to the bank but when I finally found him on the backside of his building he hadn't even gone yet. When he was leaving to go to the bank he had me ride with him because I couldn't stay in the building and it was winter so I couldn't stand outside. While at the bank with me in the car he found out all his accounts were closed so we drove around different locations as he was trying to figure out why his accounts were closed. 4 months later I received notice that I had an issue with my intoxalock, well he never filed my paperwork with the DMV in which he is supposed to. So the DMV told me since the paperwork didn't get filed until April of 2024 that is when your time starts not December of 2023, so my year won't be up until April 2025. I've been fighting this in court but the biggest problem is the DMV doesn't want to change my removal date to December 2024 even though that is when my actual one year is up. About 6 months after install I received another notice from intoxalock saying I needed maintenance done. I brought my truck into a different location than Awesome Auto and was told that my intoxalock that is registered to me was just installed in a different vehicle. The guy didn't even install the right equipment in my vehicle he just throws any random one in your car. Avoid this place at all cost!!!!
After I posted this review about the place that installed my intoxalock the Intoxalock Company contacted me and they helped me resolve some of the issues that occurred after the installation.

Frequently Asked Questions About Intoxalock Ignition Interlock
How does an interlock device work?
An ignition interlock device (IID) is a small breathalyzer installed in your vehicle to prevent it from starting if alcohol is detected on your breath. Before driving, you'll blow into the device. If your breath alcohol concentration (BrAC) is below the programmed limit, the car starts. Periodic retests occur during your trip to ensure continued compliance. To read more on Intoxalock, you can read our ignition interlock device guide.
What is the cost of an ignition interlock device?
The installation of an ignition interlock device, often called a car breathalyzer, typically costs between $70 and $150. This one-time fee is paid at the start of your lease and covers the service center's labor to install the device in your vehicle. Payment is made directly to the service center at the time of installation. For more on cost breakdowns, you can read our cost of ignition interlock device guide.
How do I use my interlock device?
Using an IID is simple. To start your vehicle, blow into the device as directed. If the device detects no alcohol, your car will start. You may be prompted for "rolling retests" while driving, where you’ll blow into the device again to confirm compliance. How-to videos are also available on the Intoxalock mobile app.
Where do I get an ignition interlock device?
Ignition interlock devices can be installed at certified service centers nationwide. Intoxalock offers a convenient network of locations and helps you schedule an installation appointment near you. Visit our Intoxalock locations page or call us to find the nearest service center and begin the installation process.
How long will my installation take?
Installing an ignition interlock device typically takes 1-2 hours, depending on your vehicle type. Certified technicians ensure the device is properly installed and provide you with training on how to use it. Contact Intoxalock for an appointment and an accurate time estimate for your installation.
What happens if I fail a breath test on my ignition interlock device?
If you fail a breath test, your vehicle will not start, and the device will log the event. Depending on your state’s regulations, multiple failed tests may trigger additional penalties, such as lockouts or reporting to your monitoring authority. Intoxalock devices allow you to retest after a short wait if alcohol is no longer detected. Always follow your state’s guidelines to remain compliant.
Can I install an ignition interlock device in a vehicle I don’t own?
Yes, in most cases, you can install an ignition interlock device in a vehicle you regularly drive, even if you’re not the registered owner. However, the vehicle owner must provide consent for the installation. Intoxalock works with you and the owner to ensure compliance with state regulations and the successful setup of the device.
What should I do if my ignition interlock device locks me out?
If your ignition interlock device locks you out, it’s usually due to missed tests, failed tests, or state-specific requirements. Intoxalock offers a simple lockout override process in most cases to help you get back on the road quickly. Contact Intoxalock customer support for assistance and to understand the steps needed to resolve the issue.
