I pulled off at the nearest Discount Tire, hoping it was just a flat, but I was told there were 17 cars ahead of me. I tried two more places and was given the same 2–3 hour wait. By the time I reached my fourth stop, Car-X Tire & Auto, I was stressed and just trying to get home safely. As soon as I walked in, I explained what was going on, and Sawyer immediately helped me. He was understanding, kind, and had my car looked at within 30 minutes. They discovered the real issue — a cracked rim — and let me know they wouldn’t be able to replace it that day. But they also understood that I still needed to get home. What happened next truly went above and beyond anything I expected. The guys took it upon themselves to figure out a temporary solution so I could make it home safely. They first tried welding the crack, but when the weld wouldn’t hold, they problem-solved again and decided to use an epoxy seal instead. The epoxy held, my tire stopped losing air, and I was able to make the drive back to Milwaukee. They didn’t charge me a single dollar for any of the work they did. On top of that, they even gave me their number so I could text them when I got home to let them know I made it safely, especially with the terrible road conditions. I have never experienced customer service or genuine kindness like this from an auto shop. Sawyer and the entire team, which I would also like to give credit to, Simon, Wade, and Matt at Car-X turned an extremely stressful situation into something I’m truly grateful for. If I could give them more than 5 stars, I absolutely would. I can’t recommend them enough. Thank you again for your genuine compassion and understanding, I would 100% recommend this shop over any other shop around! Thank you to Sawyer, Simon, Wade, and Matt you guys truly made my night.
