I'm unsure how Intoxalock is viewed as the number one Ignition Interlock Device provider. Sure, when they want you to sign up and get you on their program, they are very helpful and even reach out to you. Once you are signed up and they are receiving your payments, the customer service is awful. To begin, the representatives talk fast because they are just reading script, and are hard to understand. They get annoyed if you ask them questions to clarify what they are saying and continue to read their script. The representative I talked to the other day did not even know the language in the lease regarding marketing. Since she could not answer my question, she ended the call. The call I made now, I was on hold 27 minutes before reaching a representative. He also seems to be unaware of the language in the lease, so I had to explain it to him. Again, instead of hearing what I'm saying, the representative is taking parts of it and looking for the best script and reading that to me which does not answer the question I am asking. I am now being transferred to a specialist? If I gave all the details so far from my experiences with customer service, it would make for an extremely long review. The bottom line is, the customer service is awful and it is very frustrating.

Frequently Asked Questions About Intoxalock Ignition Interlock

How does an interlock device work?

An ignition interlock device (IID) is a small breathalyzer installed in your vehicle to prevent it from starting if alcohol is detected on your breath. Before driving, you'll blow into the device. If your breath alcohol concentration (BrAC) is below the programmed limit, the car starts. Periodic retests occur during your trip to ensure continued compliance. What is the cost of an ignition interlock device?

The installation of an ignition interlock device, often called a car breathalyzer, typically costs between $70 and $150. This one-time fee is paid at the start of your lease and covers the service center's labor to install the device in your vehicle.
