  I just got back from getting my brakes checked at Monroe’s Auto Service on Port Washington Rd. My car has 48,000 miles on it. Alex checked my brakes and rotors and told me my brakes were good. He even showed me pics of my brake pads and explained to me about the thickness of the pads. He could’ve screwed me over and told me I needed pads and rotors, but, he did not. I am so impressed with Alex. Refreshing honesty. I will be back when need be and I will recommend him to others.

  I scheduled an appoint on Friday online for Sunday at 9 am. Waited until 9:30AM and nobody showed up. Called the number that went to a foreign customer service line who said a service manager would be calling me back and so far, nobody has called.

  My experience at this garage is consistently phenomenal. Alex is ALWAYS kind and helpful, even after an entire day under several cars and covered in car oil. Him and his staff are salt-of-the-earth people who understand their clients genuinely. I hobbled into their lot after helping my sister move her and her family this Tuesday afternoon, after seeing that my hot engine light had gone off. Alex popped the hood and within 5 seconds identified the problem: a majorly important belt had ripped off and I'd been driving it without the coolant system working. He saw that the coolant had been boiling over. I really appreciate that he explains in layman's terms what is going on mechanically. I've never felt like I didn't know what needed to be fixed. He had it fixed in less than 48 hours, with new coolant and everything. These dudes are out here working magic, honestly. I've never been so comfortable walking into a garage in my 34 years as I am here. And by the grace of the gods, they're very close to my house!

  An unusual noise came on Saturday from underneath the car. Not ongoing… it came and went. Puzzling as my car only has 5,000 miles on it. I was pleasantly surprised to find Monro open on Sunday and the technician worked and worked to figure it out. In the end a small rock had found its way inside the left front brake mechanism…. something none of had encountered before. Only through persistence was it found and fixed. The service charge was very reasonable and I went home after a long while — as a very relieved and happy customer.

  I'm pretty sure they were trying to scam me. The worker first told me my total would be 500 then told me it would be 600 if I wanted to pay with a physical card. They said they could not add a discount which was 500 (the original price they told me about in the first place ) unless I pay with cash or if I cash app them money which isn't professional at all.
