I rented a car in Minneapolis on sept 16,2025 and dropped it off I. Milwaukee sept 23, 2025. I told them at the desk/front there was small scratch on the hood and they said they marked it on the contract. A day into the trip all the safety features had emergency faults. It said do not drive. I asked for another car and they said I had to drive 100 miles to exchange it out. I couldn’t so I keeped the vehicle and dropped it off in Milwaukee. They wouldn’t even send me another vehicle. It
Was dangerously a bad car. The worst customer service ever, they were rude and didn’t care. Then I get a bill for $ 952.50 for a scratch that I reported. I called them and told them that I already told Milwaukee sixt about it, and they said ok. Now I get a bill from collections. There are thief’s and liers. Beware. I have attached the error message I got on the car. See attached. Don’t rent from them.

The rental car location was extremely efficient, helpful and professional during the check-in process. The night before, when I had extreme flight delays, I called the customer service line and was told inaccurate information about check-in process. I felt weary about my conversation with the representative, and elected to call back an hour later and did once again receive different information. once speaking with the second representative, I requested to get transferred directly to the branch, although they could never get a hold of an employee at the Milwaukee Airport branch. I had to wait in the airport from 2 AM to 7 AM as to when they opened. The representative stated that sometimes employees would be flexible to stay an hour or two later from their shift (12 AM) if you give them a good tip…. I felt that was so unprofessional to even say that to a customer on the phone. I am grateful that my check-in process was seamless at 7 AM on the dot when they arrived for their shift. I elected to get a car upgrade, in addition to insurance coverage God forbidden case of an emergency. I did receive a receipt via email upon the conclusion of drop off of the vehicle as well.

Avoid Sixt at All Costs -- Ongoing Billing Nightmare
I will never rent from Sixt again. My experience was a complete disaster from start to finish.
When I arrived to pick up my reservation, the process was confusing and frustrating. I had reserved a GMC Acadia, but the agent kept pushing “other options” that turned out to be paid upgrades. When I asked for the vehicle I actually reserved, I was given a basic Subaru instead -- not even close to what I booked, but I decided to just take it and move on.
That was only the beginning. Since returning the car in August, I’ve been repeatedly billed for tolls... it’s now November, and I’m still getting charges. There’s no way to remove my payment card from the system, so I’m essentially at their mercy for ongoing, unexplained charges.
Trying to resolve it has been infuriating. The customer service rep kept putting me on hold, only to tell me I needed to call their “tolling department,” which conveniently closes at 5 p.m. and by the time I got transferred, it was 5:12.
Bottom line: between the bait-and-switch tactics, confusing process, and endless billing issues, Sixt has lost my business forever. Rent anywhere else... seriously, anywhere else.

Be careful running with this company! They gave me a decent looking car with a bunch of scratches on it and some clear cut tire damage and then returned. They came around and tried to blame the existing tire damage on me.!
To top it off I prepaid for a vehicle and then they told me I couldn’t use my card upon arrival and I was hesitant to use a credit card to essentially have a double payment for the car but they assured me that the refund would go through the same day and I also had somebody in their corporate customer service. Essentially tell me the same thing that the refund would process almost instantly it would be expedited.. here I am over a month later with having been charged twice and these questionable decision makers trying to hold me accountable for some damage is already there. Thanks a lot Sixt! You won’t be seeing me again but you’ll definitely hear from me
