I did some research online to see where I could get one and was determined to change it myself. Didn't seem to difficult. I took a chance and went to the Advance Auto Parts that was on my way home and I am so glad I did. The energy in the store felt very welcoming. I picked out the light bulb that I needed. When I went to check out the person assisting me joked with me and then was kind enough to help me change the bulb. I would definitely return to this location for any other car needs. They were knowledgable and kind.

I finally went into advanced auto the other day, after a co-worker had to give me another jump. I hadn’t even looked up what I needed yet, so just went straight to the counter to ask for help. Tim was super friendly and looked up and told me exactly what I needed, and went to just go grab it for me. Then he asked if I needed help putting it in, and offered to do it for me 😭 I was so relieved to not have to figure it out myself in the dark and cold. I should have come in way sooner. Thank you so much again for your help! Will come here again.

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
