Terrible sham of a company. TONS of fees they don’t tell you about, along with random incorrect charges add to your bill. Customer service in next to impossible to get a hold of so having charges fixed takes days on the phone. Even their live chat says “no one available” constantly. I would try any other company.
EDIT- MARCH 19,2025
Daniel reached out to me after reading my review and fixed everything in one call and credited my account for all the hassle! Even called back to make sure the error code on device was fixed and said I can call him directly in the future. I would give 5 stars to him.

The intoxilock is a hazard to my driving it goes off non stop and in the middle of driving at night and during the day I have to take my eyes off the road an a hand off the wheel. I'm sure there has to be a safer way to do this. In all weather conditions specially when its snowing or a hard rain not safe at all.

Frequently Asked Questions About Intoxalock Ignition Interlock
How does an interlock device work?
An ignition interlock device (IID) is a small breathalyzer installed in your vehicle to prevent it from starting if alcohol is detected on your breath. Before driving, you'll blow into the device. If your breath alcohol concentration (BrAC) is below the programmed limit, the car starts. Periodic retests occur during your trip to ensure continued compliance. To read more on Intoxalock, you can read our ignition interlock device guide.
What is the cost of an ignition interlock device?
The installation of an ignition interlock device, often called a car breathalyzer, typically costs between $70 and $150. This one-time fee is paid at the start of your lease and covers the service center's labor to install the device in your vehicle. Payment is made directly to the service center at the time of installation. For more on cost breakdowns, you can read our cost of ignition interlock device guide.
How do I use my interlock device?
Using an IID is simple. To start your vehicle, blow into the device as directed. If the device detects no alcohol, your car will start. You may be prompted for "rolling retests" while driving, where you’ll blow into the device again to confirm compliance. How-to videos are also available on the Intoxalock mobile app.

What happens if I fail a breath test on my ignition interlock device?
If you fail a breath test, your vehicle will not start, and the device will log the event. Depending on your state’s regulations, multiple failed tests may trigger additional penalties, such as lockouts or reporting to your monitoring authority. Intoxalock devices allow you to retest after a short wait if alcohol is no longer detected. Always follow your state’s guidelines to remain compliant.
Can I install an ignition interlock device in a vehicle I don’t own?
