Due to construction it was pretty slow me and one other customer then 2 employees. One on a computer with the other customer. I greeted the one distracted employee looking for something and let him know I needed my starter tested. He said it'd be a second I told him to take his time, 10 minutes later he hollered across the store I'd probably be better off going to Autozone nextdoor. Now I goto Advance because I've always been treated right and they have better parts. Now do to that customer service I give 1 star. Now I'll have to blame advance auto when I have to replace the duralast junk autozone sold me for $200

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
