Intoxalock intentionally misleads consumers with pricing and guarantees by initiating the terms by claiming the device is 104 and some change monthly but charge you 81 and some every two weeks witch would be over 160 per month then takes advantage of an already poor situation by making it worse there machines give violations for temperatures being to high in the vehicle for example in Vancouver wa it was 90 degrees outside in late may they gave me a violation 10 witch is temperature failure and forced me to pay 115 dollars between a 81 dollar charge to them along with a 35 dollar charge to the service center and they are aware of this issue and claim it happens because of the temperature sensor in the device, this happened to me twice and when I rightly complained they told me I was cry baby and hung up Intoxalock is nothing more than a predatory company making issues worse and further making people regain freedom to drive impossible, I understand that I put myself in the position to be forced to deal with them but predatory companies like this should be better regulated and monitored

Frequently Asked Questions About Intoxalock Ignition Interlock
How does an interlock device work?
An ignition interlock device (IID) is a small breathalyzer installed in your vehicle to prevent it from starting if alcohol is detected on your breath. Before driving, you'll blow into the device. If your breath alcohol concentration (BrAC) is below the programmed limit, the car starts. Periodic retests occur during your trip to ensure continued compliance. To read more on Intoxalock, you can read our ignition interlock device guide.
What is the cost of an ignition interlock device?
The installation of an ignition interlock device, often called a car breathalyzer, typically costs between $70 and $150. This one-time fee is paid at the start of your lease and covers the service center's labor to install the device in your vehicle. Payment is made directly to the service center at the time of installation. For more on cost breakdowns, you can read our cost of ignition interlock device guide.
How do I use my interlock device?
Using an IID is simple. To start your vehicle, blow into the device as directed. If the device detects no alcohol, your car will start. You may be prompted for "rolling retests" while driving, where you’ll blow into the device again to confirm compliance. How-to videos are also available on the Intoxalock mobile app.

What happens if I fail a breath test on my ignition interlock device?
If you fail a breath test, your vehicle will not start, and the device will log the event. Depending on your state’s regulations, multiple failed tests may trigger additional penalties, such as lockouts or reporting to your monitoring authority. Intoxalock devices allow you to retest after a short wait if alcohol is no longer detected. Always follow your state’s guidelines to remain compliant.
Can I install an ignition interlock device in a vehicle I don’t own?
