Safelite participates in predatory practices so beware and go somewhere else.
I did an online quote and through the process found a $40 "recycling fee" was being charged. As I received quotes for other major competitors, their fee was $10. I found this strange so I called Safelite. The representative on the phone said since my window was no longer there and they were just installing a new side window, there would be NO fee at the time of the appointment.
I had to leave town, but a family member was able to be there with the technician. I saw immediately afterwards the "recycling fee" was still there. I called customer service and they told me that it is not only a recycling fee, but it is a catch all fee to cover any other parts, cleaners, etc. during the installation. They could not tell me why their competitor charges $10 and they charged $40. The representative said there was nothing that could be done since the service was just completed. She did tell me that if I was able to ask the question during the service, she had a discount code she could have used for the fee.
The last part that was aggravating is that I had found a discount code online for the entire service. I found this and it made Safelite somewhat competitive in pricing. While I was on the phone, the representative said that my discount code would over the recycling fee. I made it clear this was a code I found and they had done nothing for customer satisfaction.
Please go elsewhere for your glass repair or replacement. Safelite really doesn't care about their customer or their experience.

Easily appointed through my auto insurance and promptly taken at the appointment’s time and an excellent windshield replacement!
They cancelled my appointment, claiming they didn't have the trim that comes with the glass when they buy it. They had nearly a week to prepare for this, and still failed to follow through. This isn't the first time they have done this, and others I've known have had this happen as well. Tech called to cancel, promising I would receive a phone call from their office to verify how and if they would be able to proceed...no call.
Easy to work with, but poor quality workmanship. They left an inner side panel loose (interior, along the left side of the windshield). There is also some kind of electrical component dangling down from the interior top panel (along the top side of the windshield), which I guess used to be inside of it. Finally, there were a bunch of plastic or rubber flakes left all over the gear shift area. I understand that I can go back to get these problems corrected with the warranty, but it's a big hassle for me to get back down there, drop off my car again, and pick it up again. So I just wouldn't go here again.
