So I have been locked out of my device twice due to the heat! I had to pay the lock out fee and the calibration fee twice. They credited the lock out fee back to me but told me they can’t give me the calibration fees back? On top of everything the credit they gave me back they took back. I’ve left several email and I’ve got nothing. I can’t control the temperature! Not to mention if I don’t turn my car on for one day it will drain my battery. I got AAA just to deal with this company. It is a literal nightmare…on top of everything I’m paying for this service…twice a month and every time I pay it’s a different price. This place just wants to take your money…all of it.

This company needs to figure out how to have their devise not drain the cars battery. Also, needs to make it easier to explain violations. If you leave your car after starting and are not back to answer the 5 min recall, you go into lock mode, even though 5 minutes later you blow 0.00 BAC.

I did everything that was expected not only of the courts, the whole intoxalock service I've never paid the agreed amount biweekly (always more) have had multiple lockouts for no true reason (money grab?) I've now been paid up in full for removal of with extra $ in the account, have scheduled multiple times with the app, no phone calls. This was a medical situation there is absolutely nothing on my driving abstract that indicates I require anything beside my glasses. I'm am typing this as I am waiting to speak to someone because apparently I need Intoxalock to schedule the appointment with CarToys, this has become a nightmare bottleneck for me to get something I've paid to have removed, to top it AM NOT REQUIRED my DL is squeaky clean and that's the DOL agent that I've talked to, any please respond ASAP.

Frequently Asked Questions About Intoxalock Ignition Interlock

How does an interlock device work?

An ignition interlock device (IID) is a small breathalyzer installed in your vehicle to prevent it from starting if alcohol is detected on your breath. Before driving, you'll blow into the device. If your breath alcohol concentration (BrAC) is below the programmed limit, the car starts. Periodic retests occur during your trip to ensure continued compliance. To read more on Intoxalock, you can read our ignition interlock device guide.

What is the cost of an ignition interlock device?

The installation of an ignition interlock device, often called a car breathalyzer, typically costs between $70 and $150. This one-time fee is paid at the start of your lease and covers the service center's labor to install the device in your vehicle. Payment is made directly to the service center at the time of installation. For more on cost breakdowns, you can read our cost of ignition interlock device guide.
