The service was professional and friendly. It seemed like everyone who worked there was doing their best.
Despite that, the experience was pretty chaotic and a bit stressful. This has much to do with the constrained space, lots of demand with no appointments, and the fact that cars must wait in the lane of a parking lot with no clear line based on order of arrival. Total time from start to finish: 63 minutes.
The long version: When I arrived, I had to first hover in the lane of the parking lot along with other Jiffy Lube customers and yet other cars trying to pass through the glut we created. It wasn’t clear who got there first, and which of the three bays any of us would need to enter.
Eventually I flagged down a staff member, who first asked me to wait in my car until he could check me in. After 5 minutes of waiting, a spot opened up and a kind driver let me in, acknowledging that I’d gotten there first. But as soon as I took the spot, I was asked to relocate to the parking lot of the Bahn Mi joint across the street. Another car took that spot. I waited another 20 minutes there before flagging down the staff again, who said I could move back to my original spot once he relocated the car that had taken it. But just before I backed out from the Bahn Mi joint, someone else took the spot. The staff member explained that the newcomer just needed their tires filled with air, so I’d need to wait.
All in all, just to check in, it took 38 minutes and 4 different sets of instructions on where to move my car. From then until being done was another half hour - but at least it was a smooth and unstressful half hour.
Check out was great: a small discount was applied for my experience, and after hearing that the experience had been chaotic, I was encouraged to fill out a review. This is a sign that they care about the customer experience and aren’t just trying to boost their review score by only soliciting positive reviews.
But it’ll still be hard for me to return.

If I could rate zero stars I would.
In October 2024, my daughter brought her car to Jiffy Lube store #1095 on Greenwood Ave N. for a routine oil change. Minutes after leaving, the engine seized while she was driving on I-5 and she had to coast to the shoulder just before the 520 exit. The car was towed back to the shop. When checked, there was no oil showing on the dipstick, and we were later told the engine was destroyed.
What made this experience truly awful was how we were treated afterward.
We were repeatedly told they were “sorry, but too busy with other customers” to even look at the car or discuss next steps. I sat at the shop for hours while newly arriving oil change customers were prioritized. A vehicle that failed immediately after service was treated like an inconvenience.
Communication was dismissive and inconsistent which led me to go in person to get some answers. Only near the end of the day (and me waiting on site for hours) was I told the engine was beyond repair. We had to arrange towing and a rental car out of pocket, with the verbal promise of reimbursement.
We were thankful no one was hurt when the engine failed on a busy freeway. The situation could have been far worse.
The compensation offered was based on Blue Book value, which was not enough to purchase a comparable replacement vehicle in the Seattle area. This created significant financial hardship and stress during an active move to the city.
This review reflects my personal experience and timeline of events.
Mistakes can happen. Ignoring customers and refusing to prioritize a serious failure that occurred immediately after service is unacceptable.
If you expect accountability, urgency, and basic customer care when something goes wrong, I recommend choosing another service provider.

I went to the Jiffy Lube in Greenwood early Thursday to get an oil change. Ryan, the manager, saw that my brake fluid was low and asked to check the brakes. I gave him the go ahead, and I’m glad I did. Ryan called me out to the car and showed me how the rear shoes were metal on metal. He also showed how the caliper bolt heads were stripped from the previous brake job. Bolt extraction required. Not good. Ryan found calipers at a JL in Lynwood and worked up a price. I agreed knowing that travel time for the parts pick up and repair put me close to 1 or 2.
By 3:00, the car was not done. Ryan made it a point to check in and explain that the cotter pins had been a problem too.
It was after 4 when Ryan returned from the test drive to ring me up. It had been a long day, and he knew it. I inquired about compensation for the extended repair time. Ryan was able to offer remuneration that showed both care for his customers and represented Jiffy Lube well. I don’t often write reviews. Ryan, as a Jiffy Lube rep, earned this. Thanks Ryan for your courtesy and thank you Jiffy Lube for hiring managers who put customer satisfaction and continued patronage priorities.

The service today was fantastic! I came in thinking it was time for an oil change since it had been six months, but the team checked my records and saw that I’d only driven 2,000 miles since my last visit. Instead of charging me over $100 for an oil change I didn’t actually need, they checked my oil level, topped of my fluids, and put air in my tires and recommended I come after another 1,000 miles.
I really appreciate that they took the time to look at my previous service and mileage rather than just going ahead with an unnecessary oil change. That kind of honesty and attention to detail goes a long way. Because of this experience, I will absolutely be coming back.

I recently came in for an oil change and also had a question about my heating system. Ryan was incredibly knowledgeable and took the time to explain that with the PNW’s fast-changing weather, all I needed to do was roll the windows down slightly — no unnecessary repairs or upselling.
He was transparent and even let me know that previous work I had done at Pacific Rim was overcharged on labor. I really appreciated the honesty and professionalism. It’s refreshing to find a shop that’s genuinely helpful and straightforward. I’ll definitely be back for my next oil change and any future services!
