Ordered the IFAR (medium SUV) for a 34 days rental. I didn't like the presented options, so I requested the Jeep Wranger and they gave it to me. Overall the experience was great. Note that when you exit there's a sign where you can't turn right. If you turn right you'll get a fine.

I really wanted to share our experience in hopes that it helps others make an informed decision. We rented a car from the Alamo location in Seattle in early October. While driving into Canada, the tire literally came off the axle while we were on the road. We did not hit a pothole, curb, or anything. Even the police officer who stopped to help us said it looked like the tire had not been properly secured or checked by the rental company, meaning this could very likely have been a maintenance or safety oversight on Alamo’s part. The situation was frightening. We were lucky we were on a slow street. If this had happened while driving on the highway or at normal speed, our car could have flipped. I honestly don’t like thinking about what could have happened. Our lives were put at risk. Because the car was blocking the road and we were still on the phone with Alamo trying to figure out what to do, the police had to call a tow truck for safety reasons. We paid almost $300 out of pocket for the tow. We also had to pay for an Uber to the rental location in Canada to get another car. The worst part has been the aftermath. We have been reaching out to Alamo for weeks about the reimbursement they promised us. Every time, we are told someone will get back to us, but no one ever does. No follow-up. No email. No call. Nothing. We were shaken by the experience itself, but the complete lack of responsibility or communication afterward has been incredibly disappointing. Cars should be properly inspected. Customers’ lives should not be put at risk. And at the very least, we should not have to be chasing down reimbursement for something that was not our fault. For now, I cannot recommend renting from this location. Please be cautious. I hope no one else has to experience what we did.

I received the car with an incomplete tank. It had 380 miles of gas left, and I returned it with 388 miles left. I was charged $34 for the incomplete tank. I highly doubt they will fill up the car I rented. Apparently, $34 is more important to them than their reputation. I will not rent a car from them again. No advertising. I had a positive experience with another company that respects their customers.

I do not write reviews often, only when it is so excellent that I think everyone should know about them or when it is so unpleasant that I think everyone should know about them. If you think you have a happy trip maybe too happy you could choose to pick up a car here to add some frustration to your happiness. Just imagine to pickup a car eventually took 1.5 hours even with the reservation and was forced to switch car twice, the first time is because no car is available even when we have the reservation made for a mid size car previously so they said we could choose to wait 20-30 minutes to get another car size which is a full-size car instead of the mid size with the same price, so ok, then for a full-size with the same price, worth waiting for 20-30 minutes. Here comes the drama, after waiting for 30 minutes and went upstairs to pick up the car, this lady just say “Not Available” several times saying car was changed again and this time a mid size car, and the tone sounds like I made a big mistake and too greedy to even think about getting a full size car, as if I do not deserve a full size car. However, that is not my mistake ok, in fact that was the offer you guys offered downstairs and this is a trade off for a 30 minutes waiting time. Now after waiting for 30 minutes you just regret the deal. Since we already stayed for 1.5 hours at this point and I do not really want to stay anymore just took some additional pictures to prove that she switched the car. The car we got only has 1/2 gas not a full tank even though I initially said I need gas for a long trip. She figured I am not very happy and just said I could return the car with no gas. But as for now it just felt like not a good solution. Generally speaking people usually return car with some gas left, for me usually as least 1/2 gas. So the customer is angry and here is the review. Update: just change the star to 4 since even though the pick up experience is not that pleasant, the car is in good condition very clean and overall a nice car.

When I walked into the area where all of the vehicles were parked I was immediately greeted by somebody. The employee asked to see my Rental receipt and then walk to me over to a specific vehicle, saying this was my car. I then asked if I was able to choose and he said yes but this is the car that I want. No, it was not the car that I wanted. I did not feel free to choose the vehicle of my liking which is a benefit of Alamo. I felt pressured to rent this particular vehicle for whatever reasons the employee had. I kindly declined and asked which other vehicles were included in my rental. I ended up taking my time and walking around to look at other cars much to the irritation of the employee who did not want to assist me further at this point.
