If you are from Washington do not rent a car at the airport, they charge more for your deposit.
My rentals trunk would not automatically open or close, pulled a muscle in my back messing with that thing. The cruise control kept speeding up when we would go downhill! Car was nice but had issues.
We tried to see if we could drop the car in AZ and fly home, but they wanted to charge us 1100!!!!
Highway robbery! I will never use them again. You can only use credit card and you can not use more than 1. If you find a cheaper price online then show them and they will most likely honor it!

This company has a reputation for fraudulently charging customers cleaning and damage fees and they did it to me. I rented from them 11/6-11/10. The car was not in good condition. There were scratches in various areas all around the car, and immediately upon opening the door it was evident the car had been smoked in. There was a strong marijuana odor and there were ashes that had not been fully cleaned out the front cup holder. I emailed Sixt immediately to let them know about the odor to ensure it was documented and I would not be charged. They apologized and assured me that I would not be, so imagine my surprise when I received an email today (11/15) stating that they charged me a $150 “special cleaning fee” and a $400 “odor removal” fee. They’re now accusing me of smoking in the vehicle and of leaving behind ashes and tobacco wrappers. I believe they are using pictures from another renter’s return cause they absolutely are not from my use of the vehicle. I do not smoke or use tobacco in any form at all. After emailing them to request they remove the charges, they offered a 50% discount on the fees as a “goodwill gesture”. I declined. To be charged an odor removal fee and a special cleaning fee for a car that already had an odor and did not have tobacco debris from me is crazy. I also forgot to mention that the lady at the counter lied and told me it was mandatory that I purchase liability insurance through them, which I did but now know that I didn’t need to. I have my own personal insurance policy and also have rental insurance coverage on the credit card I used. They’re scammers and thieves.

Never again.
I was in Seattle to settle my late father's estate. Already a stressful time. Somehow I received a scratch on my car (or missed it when I picked it up) that would not have bother any other rental company. Now they are charging me $1600 to repair something that I bet I could buff out.
Sixt, save your canned email. If you wanted this resolved, you should have resolved it by now. I am looking forward to the next class action lawsuit.

EDIT: Please see the owner’s response—they’ve given no clear next steps. I called Sixt and was told to contact the branch office. The branch then directed me back to the main office. This back-and-forth is unacceptable. I would like the SIXT at SEA TAC airport to reach out to the SIXT claims office and work out a solution regarding this case.
I had a very disappointing experience with Sixt. I rented a car from 8/27 to 9/3, and during the rental, something fell from a tree and cracked the windshield. When I returned the car, the agent inspecting it told me the damage was covered and asked me to sign some forms. The return line was long, and it felt like she just wanted to rush me through.
Not only that, but the agent who helped me during the pickup also told me that any damages to the car were covered — which turned out to be completely misleading.
A few days after returning the car, I was charged nearly $1,600 for the windshield repair. When I called the claims department to explain what happened, they told me there was nothing they could do because I had signed the papers. They suggested I contact the branch directly, but there’s no phone number available — and since I’m no longer in Seattle, I can’t visit in person.
It’s extremely frustrating and feels dishonest that Sixt agents would verbally assure customers of coverage just to move the line faster, only to later bill them for damages. The whole experience feels like a trap and raises serious questions about their business practices. The staff definitely need better training to provide accurate information to customers.
I would strongly caution anyone renting from Sixt to get everything in writing and not rely on what their agents say in person.

SIXT NEED TO BE SHUTDOWN
The most shockingly poor service I have truly ever experienced.
Im in shock writing this as SIXT to me has always had a good reputation. Until the USA rental car we picked up in Seattle.
Im going to sum up quickly the shocking conversations and issues I have had with SIXT over the past 2 weeks.
Firstly, upon receiving the final invoice after returning home I noticed charges have been added for items we had not even asked for or taken such as they were claiming we requested a choice upgrade charged us over 200 dollars for this. When i challenged this and evidenced i ordered a BMW X1 and thats what I was given they then agreed to remove this charge. So the guy who gave us the rental just added whatever he wanted on clearly
This wasnt the only charge they added some other stuff which I am still arguing to this day.
On webchat I constantly got misinformation and incorrect breakdowns of my final invoice A BUNCH OF IDIOTS EMPLOYEED CLEARLY
After 2 weeks of trying to get this sorted and failing I requested for a complaint to be logged to only be told point blank NO SHE WASNT LOGGING A COMPLAINT I would have to email my complaint.
I refused why am i going to email my complaint when I speaking with someone right now. She then transferred me to a ‘supervisor’ doubt it as he was thicker than her.
He basically told me I cant complaint as its already been explained to me the costs. HOW CAN A COMPANY TELL YOU YOU CANT COMPLAIN THAT IS LITERALLY BREAKING THE LAW AND TAKING AWAY CONSUMER RIGHTS.
I have emailed my complaint because at this point I am beyond furious. I have since received a response to my complaint saying ‘its been noted my upset but theres nothing further they can do’ yet I am still missing money and no one is willing to assist. TRULY THE MOST SHOCKING EXPERIENCE.
While the car itself was perfectly fine from SIXT the customer service has truly been the worst I have ever come across.
I WILL CONTINUE TO SLANDER SIXT FOR THE REST OF MY EXISTENCE
